Age:
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 2
Appearance:
Mary is absolutely beautiful, just like her best friend Victoria. They are known throughout District 2 as the most charismatic, gorgeous teenage girls there. Because of this, they are often the targets of other teenage girls' jealousy.Personality:
Mary is tall, about 5'4, with long dark hair and fair skin. She has long legs and her body is mature for a 13 year old girl. People often mistake her for being 15 or or 16 years old, especially the boys.
She can't stand the way she looks, however. In her eyes she is ugly and fat, although she is not.
She has deep brown eyes, often covered by glasses. She has the typical teenage girl style, with the nice clothes that all girls love to wear, but few outside the Upper Districts can afford.
In the summer time when she works out and sweats a lot she tends to break out really bad on her face, like a lot of teens do. No matter how hard she tries, she can't keep it from happening.
Mary usually has a very outgoing personality. She has never had any trouble making friends at all. She loves to laugh and meet new people. In school, she gets along with all of the crowds, because she is smart, funny, and pretty.History:
She always tries her best in everything she does, and nearly always comes up successful.
She participates in nearly everything her school has to offer. She does sports, although she is unathletic, and she is involved in all of the academic clubs. She is the smartest girl in her class in all of District 2, just like Victoria, who is 3 years older.
She has always loved to help people. She always helps the less fortunate kids with free tutoring sessions, and she will often buy them food. Everyone loves her. She is truly sweet and kind at heart.
For some reason, however, she always has suffered from an inferiority complex. She always feels like she doesn't deserve what she has and she always thinks that people are only nice to her because they feel sorry for her. Although it is the opposite, and people try to tell her so, she doesn't believe it. In her childhood years, it wasn't a big deal. However, in recent years, she has began to grow a little bit more introverted than before.
Mary has always been a little above average. When she was little, she always learned faster than the others, and almost always found herself beating the others.Codeword: odair
When she watched the Games for the first time as a toddler, and her mother told her that she may have to do it one day, she sobbed for hours. This distinct fear of killing and death has followed her into her teenage years, and she cries every time one of her District 2 counterparts is killed. She has never been one to question anything, but she has never understood the necessity of the Games.
Her parents have always made sure she has what she needs. As a middle class citizen of District 2, they have always had enough money to make sure that their family never has to go without. Her father is the head of a concrete factory and her mother is a housewife. Every night she prays that the Games will not disrupt the happy family that she has been blessed with.
Being the oldest kid in her house, she feels obligated to take care of the family, especially her two siblings. That is yet another reason that she fears the games so much. If she were to get reaped, she would have no way to be there for those who need her. Unlike Victoria, she is not a Career, and never will be.
