D1. Sapphire Sparks [FINISHED] :)

Sapphire is a 16- year- old girl originally from District 4 but after some happenings, she is now living in District 1. She is petite unlike most girls in her old District who are usually muscular or skinny. She's about 5"2 ft tall and she weighs less than a hundred pounds. She has cuts on her left wrist which she does for reasons she feels people will never understand. She also has scars and bruises on her back which she received back in her old District.

Sapphire has straight, black hair which tends to be a bit frizzy on mornings so she wets them with water rapidly. But if she couldn't wet them at all then they get all big and curly. She has fair skin which is unusual for girls in her old District who are usually tan. She is very thin 'cause she barely gets something to eat in her house even if she lived in District 4. She only got a little food from her father, who she believed, despised her. She has light, brown eyes which she inherited from her mother. That was her only resemblance from her. All other things, she inherited them from her father.

Sapphire was known to be a kind and loving child in her old District. People would see her as caring and innocent. They said she was so much like her mother. She also has talent in singing. She would often sing while feeling the cool breeze of the ocean.

But many things have happened in her life at District 4. She didn't really have an idea on how it all happened but she changed the moment she woke up in District 1 with nothing but scissors in her pocket, ragged clothes on and a rusty necklace with a pendant around her neck. She was traumatized by all the abuse she got from her father. She started acting strange. Every time someone approached her, she would assume that they would try to attack her so she would take out her scissors and be in combat position. She was changing. She was morphing from a sweet, innocent girl to a paranoid and demented one.

Sapphire finds it difficult to trust people. She only seems to trust those who nursed her to health when she woke up in a foreign house in District 1. When she was back on her feet, she was welcomed by the people who nursed her to health. She then taught herself how to fight with sharp tools. She stole a knife from a random house and brings this along with her pair of scissors. This is what she plans to use when someone tries to attack her. And when she's alone, she never sets her guard down.

Sapphire was born in District 4 to Aneira and Gray Halt. Her real name is Gala Anabella Halt. Her mother died giving birth to her which broke her father's heart. All he had left was her. A constant reminder of Aneira's death. Gray changed the moment Aneira's body was cremated and her ashes were thrown in the ocean. He got into different drugs and alcohol. He would often abuse Gala by hitting her and locking her up in the attic of their house. With all these happenings, Gala had no choice but to grow up fast.

One day, she went home to find her father drunk. He went to her and slapped her in the facing calling her names and cursing her. He hit her with a stick and locked her up in the attic. It started to rain, but an idea occurred to her. Their attic had a small window so she escaped. She was so weak at the moment that she blacked out in a dark alley after walking for what seemed like miles to her. The next thing she knew was she was in District 1, in a house surrounded by children her age.

Everything immediately came through a flashback. She blocked out in a dark alley. She fell into a cargo and got covered with fish to be sent all over the different districts. A group of workers found her body and assumed that it was just a random person sleeping so they left it outside District 1. There was a group of runaways just like her who happens to also be in District 1. They found her weak and unconscious so they took her to their home and nursed her to health.

She saw them as a threat at first so she grabbed the pair of scissors from her pocket and tried to attack them. But these runaways were one step ahead of her, they were able to dodge her every move. Once they got her, they assured her that they mean her no harm. They asked her for her name, but Gala didn't feel like Gala anymore so she tells them she doesn't remember. These runaways decided to call her "Sapphire" because of the pendant on her necklace. She accepts this because the necklace once belonged to her mother. The runaways took Sapphire in and they began a new life in District 1 as a family.

Sapphire easily adapted to the life in District 1. She, at first, found it difficult to trust the other runaways and the people of District 1. But as time passed by, she slowly accepted them. She wanted a new life. She wanted to get over the past that still haunted her. She wanted to start over, and she definitely will. Sapphire will.
