I Always Try to Be Optimistic...

"My name is Alexandria, but you can call me Alex. I recently turned twelve, and I'm from the upper part of the District. I'm really excited to learn. I'm sure all of us will become great friends," I state to the crowd of students in the classroom with my trademark smile, as my new teacher nods.

"Thanks for sharing, Alex. I'm positive you'll make lots of friends and learn a lot here in 6th Grade," my teacher, Ms. Fritz, says to me, before turning to the class. "Now that everyone has introduced themselves, and we learned about reverse alphabetical order, I have a little assignment for you all." A few of the soon-to-be bad boys in the back of the room start to grumble as I smile softly to myself.

"Oh calm down boys. It'll be super easy. I'd like to know more about you all. And this will be a nice writing assignment. I ask you all to write me a little Bio. Talk about your appearance, personality, and history. Come on, it'll be super fun. Good luck!

I smiled to myself as I pulled out some paper and a pencil. I blocked out the murmurs from the other kids. I was excited to do this. Closing my eyes and thinking for a moment, I block out everything around me. I open my eyes and start to write. Write out my life.

I Am Rather Adorable...

I guess I should start with my appearance. Most people say I'm adorable, and I guess you could agree with that. I don't look like the normal black-haired District 3 girl. Instead, I have waving brown hair that cascades down my back in sweet waves of a milk chocolate color. I usually braid a strand of it, and let it hang near my face. It makes me appear cuter, so why not? My face is heart-shaped, and I have small/plump lips and round dimples. Dimples with a natural blush upon them, mind you. My nose is perky and my lips are always in a smile. Always.

I'm small, of course. I'm around 4'6. I'm rather delicate in my build. Tiny frame, and slender limbs. My belly may be a bit pudgy, though. But my older sister Danny calls it baby fat. Which makes it cute.So I don't mind it. I also have delicate eyebrows. My eyes, which people call my best feature, are round and bright. A light brown color than shines with optimism, they are. I'm just the adorable girl with the cute face, slightly pudgy belly, and waving brown hair. What more do you expect from a sixth grader?

Oh, do you also want to hear about how I dress? I love colorful things! Bright dresses with ribbons are the funnest outfits I wear. Mother makes me wear them. They can be itchy, but it makes me feel all nice inside when people compliment me. I guess my favorite outfit, however, is just a bright shirt and jeans. They're so comfortable! Mother is against them, but Danny always tells me just to do as I please. Go with the flow. She's the perfect big sister. My best friend.My idol.

Okay, wait. There is something else... Why not be all the way truthful, y'know? There's a reason I always wear sleeves. You see, right above my right elbow is this blotchy birthmark. It's rather horrid. Mother thinks it's awful, and usually insults me a lot about it. I guess it downs my perfectness, as Mother says. The funny thing is Mother never makes me feel perfect. She usually makes me feel horrid. It's Danny who makes me feel perfect. She's the one who takes my hand every night and compliments me and tells me stories until I close my eyes. That's what makes me feel perfect.

Optimism Is My Trademark...

Hmm, next I'll tell you about my personality. Lets see here, based on the opinions of other's I'm a ball of sunshine. Well, that's what all my friends say. I'm a nice girl who always helps others. That's a truthful statement. I love helping others! Even if I want to be the one who's cheered up, I don't mind to sacrifice my happiness for others. After all, any good little girl would do that, right? Sacrifice her happiness?

I mean, it's really what I enjoy. I love to be there for people who feel alone in the world. I especially love to be there for Danny. Because she always tries hard to be there for me. I always keep a optimistic smile on my face and state all the good things in life. You only have one life to live, so make it happy! That's what I always say. But, it's not like I'm all rainbows and sunshine. I wish I was, though.

I mean, at times I get sad. Mother wants me to to be perfect, and scolds me a lot. So I guess that makes me rather fragile at times. But you wouldn't believe how good I am at hiding emotions! I pride myself in it. I can manage a smile, even if I want to cry. Sometimes I think I should let the emotions out. But when would I get the chance? I'm too busy helping everyone else!

I'm basically the sweet 12 year old girl who longs to help people. Maybe someday I'll become a nurse, or hopefully a mother! I'd love to take care of a baby! But, right now, my main priority is being there for myself and my sister. Well, mostly my sister. But you get what I mean. Maybe one day I'll finally take the time to let my true feelings loose from my lips, but not anytime soon!

I'm Not All That Special...

Okay, last but not least, my history! Lets see here. How to word my history? Well, first off, I was born 12 years ago on August 29 to the Brooker family. I have a mother, a father, and a wonderful sister. Her name's Danielle, but I always call her Danny. Matter of fact, everyone does. She's been there for me since I was born. Well, maybe it's the other way around. Just depends.

She gets sad now and then, and I always cheer her up. I remember when I was really young, and she started getting really rebellious. She had piercings, and wore black. I was scared. I thought I was losing my best friend. I was more scared for Danny, though. Mother was throwing fits. Danny wasn't being perfect. That's the thing with Mother, you have to be perfect. Have to be.

After a while, and me exposing my feeling about the dilemma now and again, Danny's phase passed. She became a tomboy. A beautiful tomboy. She started to open up even more to me, and I made it my priority to keep her happy. Actually, my priority to keep everyone happy. I didn't want to almost lose her again. I couldn't make it without her.

About the whole mother-thing, she wants me and Danny to be perfect. Beautiful young ladies with proper smiles. I try. But I have to admit sometimes it gets hard. I feel fake. I don't honestly know how to word it. It's like I'm trapped behind a mask. I mean, I don't really want to be perfect. There's no fun there. And it honestly stresses me out at times.

But as I said before, I'm good at hiding emotions. Be the perfect girl who helps everyone out and hides her emotions is my outlook on life! And I seriously don't mind. After all, when I die, I want to be remembered as the girl who helped people. Not the girl who was selfish. I don't know where my life is going to lead me, I don't know what will happen in the future.

But I'm gonna be there for everyone... every step of the way.
