Unlike some of the others, she was truly born under the Shore name. On January 19, the blonde beauty came into the world and hasn't left a mark on it since. Her parents are loving, caring, and most of the time very nice, but they can also be strict. Like most District One families, pretty much everyone has to train, and the parents had made it their personal job to pick up any kid off the street they can to get a child in the games, so they can win. Because of this, Aquamarine has always trained, but it seems her drive is slowly disappearing. No matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to get into training. Not that she's bad at it, because she's pretty skilled with a knife, but it's not fun. There's nothing entertaining about throwing daggers at fake dummies.
Most of her attention is starting to shift towards fashion. She's obviously a girl, and girls deserve freedom. But she's coming to the age where she has to take responsibility in her own hands. She has to realize that her parents won't dress her up in cute outfits anymore, but they'll probably send her to training everyday. At some points, whether it's during training or at home doing homework or while eating dinner, she wonders if her parents will truly care if she stops training, picks up fashion as her hobby. She always imagines where she'll end up, making dresses for top models, traveling all of Panem, taking exclusive trips to the Capitol to show off her new line of clothing. And then she's back throwing knives in the training center.
Being young with such a large, ruthless family has made her a tough girl. She's agressive. Most of the time, Aquamarine doesn't pick fights, but she sure gets into a lot of them. Most of her business is loud, as if she wants people to know what's going on in her life. Perhaps Aqua believes she's more important than she really is, but that's probably because in a house as large as her's, she's so small.
Her name says a lot about her; Aquamarine. Because when most people think of that word, they think of the sea, or the vibrant color, and it says so much about her. Like how her eyes match that sea-green color, and how her blonde hair is as white as anyone would imagine someone from District Four's to be. And how her long, sturdy legs could probably keep her afloat a surfboard, and her twig-like arms could reach in the crashing waves and pick up shells. And that's why she hates her name; because there's nowhere she wants to be more than District Four, because she hates flicking her knives at the dolls everyday.
Even though Aqua can be very tough at times, at other times, she's very feminine. She likes to gossip and talk about boys and paint her nails and do her friend's hair, but all of that isn't always as fun as throwing daggers at dummies. And at times like that, when she's all pepped out, she realizes who she is, who she was. No, Aqua isn't a fashion-obsessed fangirl, she's a Career. Throwing knives at dolls and sharpening her nails are two different things, and she has to realize that eventually - unless she wants to wait until she's eighteen - she's going to have to make a choice. For now, though, she's going to have to keep on poking at dummies with spears and suck it up to please her parents, or she's going to have to drop out of it. For now, she figures it's better to have a path already set for you than to make it on her own.
Knowing she's one of her parents biological children, she believes that she'll get some special treatment along the way, like the bed she cuddles on with her mom sometimes is only for the two of them, no one else. And when her mother shows affection to one of the other siblings, she gets sort of jealous, she always had. She had thought her mom's compliments to her weren't being reused for any of the other kids, but when she hears her mom tell another child how special they are, and how lucky she is to have them, Aqua feels like a no one. Like she's invisible. And sometimes, Aqua wants to run away to show the mom how lucky she is to have her, but she's stuck throwing knives.
Like her lips, nose, ears, fingers, and toes, Aqua's voice has always been small. As if she's trying to shout but only whispers will come out of her mouth. The high-pitched tone of it makes it slightly annoying, especially how every so often, her words are interjected with an Um...'s or Like,'s giving her speech that aggravating dialoge that makes anyone think of her as a stereotypical District One teen, and that's what she is. A girl with a big family, wanting to go far in life, pushing the fact that she could end up on the streets out of her minds. Wanting to run away, but wanting to stay all the same. Getting jealous, getting mad, painting her nails, doing her hair. Dressing nice, and throwing daggers at dummies.
And Aqua knows that's all she'll ever be.
