Griffin Herriot District 2

Griffin is slender, and of average height. He is strong. He usually wears a black T-shirt, a pair of comfortable jeans, and white sneakers. He has peircing, icy blue eyes. Griffin has brown, wavy hair. He keeps his hair style swept to the right, and he tries to keep his hair of medium-short length. He has a tan on his skin from being in the sun, and he has some muscles. He is stocky, and his hands are rough and a little caloused. His eyebrows are the same color as his hair.

Griffin has athsma, a rare and fatal case of it. If he is in the wrong place at the wrong time, every moment counts. He could easily die anywhere, so he has to watch himself. He has a scar on his forehead from being beaten. He easily catches any sickness going around, and despite his good looks, he has many physical problems.

Griffin is laid back, and kind of shy. He doesn't have any friends, and he is naturally reclusive. His father beats him for the most stupid things. He hates his parents. He is agressive when people are around, because he sees them as just another person to cause him pain. If you can get him to trust you, I congratulate you, because you must be a miracle worker. The only time when he is even a little kind, it is with his sister, Caila.

But under all that hate, bitterness, and distrust, kindness, gentleness, and a good leader's spirit shines through. He can easily tame animals with his whistling, and he is very friendly and kind to children. He can be sweet, and funny. He loves to tell stories and jokes to his sister. She is the one who opens him up, who makes hims laugh and cry.

Around other people, he just doesn't feel safe. And in his entire sixteen year life, he has never felt loved, or even welcomed. He is a misfit, a reject, an outcast. He loves no one. He stays alone, to himself. He provides for only himself and his sister. And if there is one law he abides by, it is kill or be killed. He lives by his own law, and cares about nothing.

Griffin was born unexpectedly along with his twin sister. His mother did not nurse them for a while, until his father reasoned with her, telling her that they would be useful. Griffin was put to work at the age of ten, put to work at the mines. Griffin has always felt sorry for the people of District Twelve. They worked as hard as he did, and still they were a poor country.

Griffin loved to walk the lakes, and one day, he found some good, dry wood and an arrowhead. An idea formed in his mind. His father had taught him how to weapons, as his father was a carpenter and a blacksmith. These items were very valuable to make a spear. His father had taught him how to make a spear. So Griffin hid the items away in his own special workshop, and he worked on them secretly when he wasn't at the mines.

When the spear was finished, his father became suspicious. He found Griffin's workshop, and also the spear. He let Griffin keep the spear, but he beat Griffin with the broom he had in his hand, giving him the scar on his forehead. Griffin used the spear, learning how to handle it accurately, and soon he was very good with it.

But then his family found out that Griffin had athsma, due to one of his attacks. They considered he and his sister hopeless. They bought Griffin medicine for his athsma, but then they sent him away with his sister. They were abandoned. They lived in a dirty mud hut with his sister, Caila.
