Personality:
Kaitlyn long shining locks of blond waves fall perfectly past her shoulders. Her dark, mocha eyes compliment her face perfectly. She is of an average size for her age, not tall, but not short. If anything, she may be a tad underweight, but not by much. She is exceptionally strong, considering how bony she is. Her figure gives off the impression that she couldn’t defend herself, but in all reality, she’s a force to be reckoned with, even if she doesn’t want to be. She has average feet, and simple hands. Her overall appearance is very neat and tidy.
Her clothes are usually dresses and skirts, except in training of course, but even then, she has some of the nicest practices uniforms. Her favorite colors are pink and lime green but she almost never gets to wear anything except blue because of her mom’s standards. She tries her best to reject all the frilly and fluffy things that are thrown at her, but she doesn’t always win that fight. She doesn’t like to fall into the normal stereotype that is District One. She likes to be unique, in the style of not having crazy colored hair or crazy clothes, but that’s a little more capitalistic. She understands that she has standards for her appearance, and obviously she doesn’t want to look like she just fell out of bed, but she doesn’t want to look like she’s trying too hard. Her favorite accessory is a lime green and pink bow her brothers got her for her birthday. It’s pretty worn out now, but to her, that just makes it better.
Kaitlyn is quiet, but in a different kind of way. Not quiet in the way you would think, like loudness, but quiet in the way she acts. Her actions are kind and soft, gentle to the touch if you will. She understands the simple side of things and enjoys the beauty that comes with it. The world doesn’t have to be a war filled place in her opinion, but she knows just about everyone else in her district would disagree with it. Her heart goes out to the kids slaughtered each year, but she knows she is powerless and couldn’t do a thing to stop it. She has spurts of braveness, but they don’t happen very happen, and if they do, she’s usually scared of being reprimanded for them. In all, she’s afraid to be corrected.History:
Her biggest fear is the Hunger Games; nothing comes close to it in fear factor in her opinion. It’s one day out of 365, but it’s still the worst. Just the slightest mention of it sends a shiver down her spine. She’s a career, so she shouldn’t be worried about it right? Wrong, she’s forced to be one, that doesn’t mean she wants to be. In fact, she’d rather be anything but one. She puts up with it, but only because she’s too scared to say anything to her parents. As far as they are concerned she loves it.
Besides constantly worrying about the Hunger Games every day, Kaitlyn has a decent mental standard. She’s extremely smart, and would much rather be in school than the training center. She especially loves reading and writing, but she doesn’t get to do much of it. She loves reading about happy things, just so she can go away to a fantasy world to make herself feel better. It’s like a punishment to flash back to reality, and that’s the worst part of it. She tries to stay in a perfect state of happiness in her mind, but it just makes reality more and more disappointing. She doesn’t understand why it can’t be like her mind thinks it is all the time. Why can’t fantasy and reality collide for once?
Her parents didn’t want a girl; they wanted a fourth boy, because in their opinion, boys are stronger, and therefore better in the games. At least that’s what her mom wanted, her dad agreed with her just to keep her happy, but when they had a baby girl, he was thrilled beyond belief. She was born early in the morning in April, and her dad would always tell her the birds sang songs of joy when she was born. She went into training at a very early age, and she told her parents she wanted to quit quite often. Her dad had always wanted to take her out of training, but her mother would not hear of the idea. Kaitlyn never really gave up the idea of quitting, but she knows she will probably have to as long as she’s eligible. Her mom wears the pants in the house, so her dad doesn’t really have a say whatsoever, because if he did, he would take her out of training. Her mom wants a victor, and will do whatever she can to get one.Codeword: odair
Kaitlyn has three brothers, all of which are careers. All three of them are getting older now, and her mom is worried that Kaitlyn is her last hope at a tribute. Her dad is extremely worried about any of his kids getting reaped, and he fights with her constantly about the issue. He told Jill that if she ever was to get reaped, step down immediately, and that there are plenty of others who would want the spot. That was comforting to Kaitlyn, but she knew that if she did, her mom would beat her upside the head. She didn’t understand why she would do that, but she would, but at the same time she understood it in a strange way. Kaitlyn’s mom had trained her whole life as a career, but never got the chance to be a tribute. So she attempts to live herself through Kaitlyn in the strangest way possible, putting her in a fight to the death for everyone else's entertainment.
Kaitlyn has never really known what it’s like to have a mother that truly cares about her. She has always wanted it more than anything in her life, but she’s never gotten it. Her brothers get that love, but only because the love the idea of killing twenty-four helpless children. They aren’t evil, they just enjoy that thought. Kaitlyn doesn’t and she’s told her mom that too multiple times in her life, but she doesn’t listen. She pretends not to hear, in hopes that Kaitlyn will change, but she won’t and she knows that. Kaitlyn’s thought about running away, because she thought it would change things, but she realized it would just make it worse. She understands that she’s never been a princess, and she probably never will be.
