Appearance: Silas stands at about 6'2, broad shouldered, with muscular thighs and arms. He has dark brown eyes, tanned skin, and light brown hair. He stays relatively clean shaven, although he does appreciate the occasional five o'clock shadow. His jaw is strong and prominent, his nose a straight line. His ears are somewhat large, which caused him strife as a child, but he seems to have grown into them now. Or so he believes. He comes from a wealthy family, and has always dressed well. Not over-the-top Capitol style, but better than most 17 year old boys.

Trained in the art of throwing knives, Silas often reacts to situations with quick, sharp, jerky motions. His eyes are quick to scan every new setting, in an almost paranoid way, even though he's never had to face any true dangers. Having been fed substantially his entire life, true hunger is a foreign concept to him, and his stature is muscular, but obviously well-fed underneath. However, even with his tall, grown frame and mature demeanor, the remnants of his childhood can still be seen on his face. His round cheeks, his baby smooth skin, pink lips, and tousled hair all add to his childlike appearance.

Personality: Having been the only child raised by affectionate, tender parents, it became a mystery to those around him why Silas had such a rough exterior personality. It even became a mystery to Silas himself. But letting people inside of his mind, his heart, was something he often found himself unable to do. His overbearing mother often begged him to tell her what was on his mind when she could tell he was upset, but he always responded with a simple "Nothing".

This isn't to say, however, that he was a quiet, unsociable person. Silas found making friends extremely easy, and he was always, metaphorically, the life of the party. He had an easygoing personality, and was always eager to listen to the problems of others. People felt comfortable opening up to him, even though he didn't reciprocate with his own feelings. He was always the first to break an awkward tension or throw out a joke to lighten the atmosphere and make those around him more comfortable, even if he didn't feel that way himself.

History: Silas' father was trained in sword fighting, a skill that he never had to put to use. His mother was a teacher, and taught him through grade school. So without putting forth much effort, Silas always made highest marks in his classes. The most emotional strife he ever faced was in his early childhood, when his grandfather died. His grandfather was a fighter if Silas ever knew one. He died at the old age of almost 130 years old, and even then his death came as a shock to everyone. He was well loved throughout the entire district, and well known for his expertise in throwing knives, which is where Silas discovered his passion for it. At over 100 years old, his grandfather could still throw a knife at anything, and hit his target with accurate precision. In him, Silas found someone that he truly admired.

His grandfather's death shook him, but even when Silas had emotions raging through him, he didn't allow it to mar his composure. When those around him attempted to console him, he returned blank stares and tight lipped smiles, muttering words of thanks, but never crying.

With women, Silas was always popular, but never one to return much affection. With one girl, he became extremely close to returning her affections, but inevitably drew further and further away from the growing relationship until their only communication was nods of their heads in passing. Sometimes this girl would haunt his dreams, he would see images of her confused face and hurt eyes many times when he closed his own eyes. It was always with a twinge of regret, when they would see each other in passing, and still with a pang of gratitude that he never made the mistake of letting her in.
