Appearance:
Rill has two role-models when it comes to appearance, His dad and his mom. He never payed attention to style. He was more focused on stone-carving, giving him thick calloused hands. Before he took up stone-carving, he was a miner, so he has a good build to him already, but he would never qualify himself as a career tribute. In fact, if there's one thing he doesn't want to be is a Career tribute. His rough blonde hair is lucky not to be coated with dust as long as he can sit there carving statues. His eyes are constantly focused on the project at hand, the eyes of a devoted hobbyist.Personality:
the amount of time Rill's spent outside is barely proportional to the amount he has spent in the dark, either in caves or at home. This means that his skin is not very tan at all, in fact it is just a darker shade of the moon. He got his hair from his mother and his size from his father. A solid 5'6 makes him easily mistaken for a younger age. He looks like a terribly disconnected man, but that is just an assumption. His social life is quite the life of the party.
Yeah, I'm strong. Yeah, I'm in good shape for fighting, but that doesn't make me want anything less than work on my statues. You other guys can go euthanize your youth. You can go build up and build until you think you're ready, but everybody knows that even after that, the odds are still against you. You're just fooling yourselves into dying, and tricking yourselves into despair. Me? I'll sit back and watch. Televised. Every year. I'll be carving my faces in my art as people carve art into your faces.History:
I kick around every day until I find what my heart says, I won't ever be lost, but them? They're lost in their body-building every day. Senseless, buff monkeys. that's all they are. Well, now you know what I hate, you might as well know what I like. My favorite view is a newly finished statue on display by sunrise. Whether it's 2 feet tall or 12, art is art, and that is beauty.
My dad always approved of me not going to career training. He probably knew exactly what I did. That the Hunger Games are no place for games. I guess I inherited that thinking from him, and I inherited my loyalty to the Capitol from my mom. I always thought I would become the greatest artist in all of District 2, but as my dad said: there are two ways to grow an oak tree. You can get off your butt and do it, or sit on an acorn a very long time.
You know, I considered being a career tribute for about one week, and in that same week, my dad took me to the Aldridge Farm Career Training Facility to show me what it's like. I never wanted to be affiliated with a career again. They were too strict, and the Stane household does not like strict things. Of course, the discipline showed very building in Moral as well as the physical, but it was not what I wanted at all.Codeword: Odair
Instead, After 3 years of mining, I took to art. I realized just how gifted my hands were and I was glad they weren't throwing swords at a wall. I always believed that true art came from a true mind. Yeah, I'll mine. Sure, I'll work out. Maybe even fight with a few people, but I cant stand doing it in front of all of Panem.
Sometimes, I think about wandering, but quickly, I realize I already have everything I want. I have my mother and father with me, my statues, and a much better house than I would craft if I were in the wilderness. And then I see that it's so much better here than anywhere else. I get exactly what I need, the governments protection, and a good reason to live.
