Seems like just yesterday
You were a part of me
I used to stand so tall
I used to be so strong
You were a part of me
I used to stand so tall
I used to be so strong
An Icy breeze blew through the district as i hurried to my favourite place, a willow tree that was near the edge of the district and away from all the noise of the square. The ground was frosty and the grass crackled under my feet but I didn't care. I sat down under the willow and stretched out my legs luxuriously. I breathed in deeply and icy air filled my lungs refreshingly. Ah, I love winter I thought. It was true. I loved this time of the year. The world was so pretty, even in this sometimes ugly district called five. Tiny ice crystals on the branches caught the light and rainbows danced before my eyes. Colors played on the frost, turning the world sparkly as if fairies had sprinkled fairy dust on the ground. My breath misted in front of my face like a miniature cloud of water vapour. I leaned against the tree and closed my eyes, remembering summers spent here as a younger child.
The sound of footsteps crunching on the grass woke me up. I was freezing, my skin had paled from the cold and my fingers were red. I looked to see who it was and made out a guys figure. I'd seen him a few times around the school before but we hadn't actually spoken before. I rubbed my hands together and moved my fingers to get circulation back into them and stood up again. My butt and my legs were asleep and it took a few moments of moving around to get circulation back into them. Once I could feel my legs again, I looked back at the guy who was now only a few feet away from me. I had to admit, he was cute. "Hi" I said, smiling in a friendly way.
