The ground feels warmer [Dreamer]

The cold of February was almost unbearable. I could feel myself completely freezing even with my coat on, and I couldn't even feel the tip of my fingers. I never liked the cold breeze of this time of year, yet I knew that I had to brave it to go to my usual training spot. Every day of winter, it seemed like a chore to even walk in the snow. Everytime I could, I cursed my fate for being a child of the District, walking around in the freezing snow to go for training... It was always a cold bite, like an icy snake penetrating his skin with its fangs... It was just unbearable.
I arrived to his traning spot, where I had made practice targets out of snow, with big circles drawn on their "stomachs" as a reminder of where to hit an enemy with a bow and arrow, or where to strike with a sword or rapier. I simply had to concentrate on the targets, and everything would be fine. I took out my rapier, a precious gift from my father, and began to strike the snow dummies with such a passion that I almost pierced the snow (which, by the time he arrived, had time to freeze up entirely).
I suddenly heard a noise from behind me. I stopped completely, unable to move for a while. I didn't want to turn my head to the source. Last time it happened, I was face to face with a giant of a Career, and I couldn't even imagine how I was frightened that day. But I had to turn my back on the dummies... Or else that would probably be impolite.
I turned too fast. My rapier had time to make a gash in my arm, and blood began slowly flowing down the wound. I let out a small shriek of pain, as I watched my blood coloring the snow red.
