Remo Moreno. The Musician. The Murderer. A Moreno. Alone. The musician had walked down the darkened alley that he had once been so happy to go down. The memories flashed back.

He was in his bedroom of his original home. The girl of his dreams laid on his bed. He played his guitar to her, she was humming along to the sound, Her beauty was shining as she hummed. He smiled at her as he played. The lips he had craved for a while were officially his. He kissed them ever so sweetly. He stopped and smiled at her. She just continued humming along with the guitar.

The oh so quiet memory was replaced with one of yelling. She screamed at him and he screamed back. The arguing continued and continued. She then left in tears. The Musician didn't care. He never did.

The last memory was of the blood. The girl held a gun and pointed it at the bodies on the ground that lay limp. The musician grabbed the brother and ran. They ran for as long as they could. The girl then was whipped. She was whipped so hard that her beauty had turned into a beast.

The memories had disappeared. He was alone in the alley again. His ex had turned into a beast and was never coming back and he hoped she never did. He made his way through the street he used to live on. The green of the grass had came back and it was one of his favorite times now. Spring was always a time he enjoyed. The flowers in bloom and the sun shining with a bit of rain here and there.

The musician carried his guitar as he marched in the gutters. He made it to the time square and decided to take a smoke. He pulled a cigarette out and smoked it blowing the smoke away from him. He smiled as he finished and smashed the cigarette. He begin playing a soft tune just like he had showed Donte. He probably shouldn't be out in the square with the whole gang war and all, but Remo doesn't give a shit. Other Morenos have warned him already not to head into the square, he might get kidnapped or taken or whatever they told him. He chuckled at those words they had told him.

He let his eyes scan the crowd seeing if he could pick out someone that could be a streetrat, but he couldn't see anyone who could be. He chuckled to himself and just stared at the crowd as he strummed his guitar. He watched as a very beautiful girl walked by. He chuckled at her appearance. She was dressed rather nicely. She was probably vain too. He giggled in delight. He disliked her already from her appearance. He never trusted girls who had a pretty face. It was more of his motto.

He decided that he was going to mess with this pretty girl. He chuckled in delight again. His voice rung out loud enough for her to hear,

"Look at what we got here, some pretty girl trying to be 'oh so beautiful' so people can actually like her. Maybe you should think about going to the poor boys, maybe then you can get something."

Remo chuckled in delight. He needed to stop being around the Morenos, they were changing him. The next thing he saw was the girl turn around. He smirked evilly, his eyes watching her ever so slightly.

This is going to be fun

How long had it been since I had signed up for that stupid gang war that the pompous windbag had started? At least a few weeks now, if not a month, when was the last time I had heard from him...not since he had started the stupid thing and I'd thrown my knife into the wall. Right now it was all about his "special" group so I wasn't allowed anywhere near the place. Stupid idiots didn't know what they were missing without me, my talent, my beauty, my attitude, they were all so blind. I spat on the ground infront of me at the thought of all those people doing all that stuff without me, but what could I do right now. This Kae person had to many friends, and it would take some time to worm my way through the ranks and figure out how possibly to topple him from his "tower of glory". Perhaps find some of his enemies, as the old saying went, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, they might be able to give me some insight on how to settle this...rivalry. Granted it was only a rivalry to me, but he didn't know me...yet.

All these thoughts swirled around my head as I wandered the streets of District 1. Ever since that day I had looked upon my "home" as a different place, a place of even greater violence than most people believed. Believe me I'm not complaining about that, I loved violenct, and this new "the strongest will survive" thing going on, I liked it alot. It was bound to catch the eye of the Peacekeepers soon though, you could only snuff out the light of so many people before the law got involved...no matter how discreet you tried to be. Though once more I found myself wondering, would the Peacekeepers getting involved really be a problem, after all, Kae had a bounty on his head, and now I was in the prime position to turn him in. It was to simple though, and now was not the time to attempt something like that. I had to admit I was fascinated by the prospect of being part of a bigger picture, even if it meant putting up with that wind bag to do it.

Now it was time to do some scouting, find some enemies of Kae and see what I could figure out from them, or perhaps even "befriend" them for my own benefit. I stepped through the crowd with renewed purpose, the purpose of becoming the best, the greatest, the most feared girl in all of District 1. Soon everyone would know the name Annastasia Glory, it wouldn't be Kae's name that people knew and feared...it would be mine.

My eyes scanned every face searching for members of a particular family...the Moreno family. It was common knowledge that the Moreno's hated Kae, so perhaps I could give them the information necessary to take down their rival once and for all. After all, who said that I had to be the one to kill him directly, why not just pull the strings from behind the scenes. Than once the Moreno's had served their purpose kill them off one by one also. Than I really will be the one in charge of this whole operation. The only problem...I had no idea what the Moreno's looked like, one could come and talk to me right now and I'd have no idea if it was a Moreno.

I brushed past some rather foul looking boy, a look of ignorance and stupidity clouded his features. Sort of how Lou looked when we first me, but that's a different story for another day. Once I had passed I heard him call out to no one in particular, though I knew it was directed at me. "Look at what we got here, some pretty girl trying to be 'oh so beautiful' so people can actually like her. Maybe you should think about going to the poor boys, maybe then you can get something." At first I just ignored it, letting it pass through one ear and than out the other, but the tone in his voice annoyed me, like he thought he was better than me. NO ONE WAS BETTER THAN ME, I'M ANNASTASIA GLORY. I'd teach him a lesson that he would never forget, a thrashing of the highest degree. It was a little out of my way to do so, but he needed to be put in his place. Turning around I stared him down, taking in how best to deflate his oversized ego.

"I don't have to TRY to be beautiful, I am beautiful, but for the sake of this conversation I'll play along with you. You tell me that I should go to the poor boys to try and get something eh." I walked over to the boy and stood next to him, a devilish grin crossing my features. "There, now I'm with a poor boy, so what are you going to give me? Or perhaps I should give you something...some advice." My features darkened and my voice took a dangerous tone as I spoke. "Leave me alone or I will kill you without a thought, what's one more life lost to pave the great road of my rise to power. No one talks the way you just did with me and lives to tell the tale, be glad that I'm feeling merciful today."

He was a fool and he needed to know it, and if he tried anything I would kill him just as I said I would. He couldn't be to much of a fight, he had the appearance of one who would rather let others do the fighting for him. I on the other hand was used to doing the dirty work on my own. That's what set me apart from people like Kae, I wasn't afraid to step up and do things myself instead of hiding behind some rabble that called themselves the streetrats.
