Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
Thistle has medium-length wavey hair that is very soft. She usually wears it down, and it curves around her face like a picture frame. Her eyes are grey-blue, which always seem to be looking off into space. They seem to get lighter when she's excited or happy, and darker when she's angry or annoyed. She has light skin, and no freckles.Personality:
She is a bit shorter than most girls her age, and weighs an alright weight. She has long legs for her height though, and is very good at running. Her nose is slightly bigger than you might expect on a girl her size. Thistle has a gash scar on her lower left leg, and it looks very thick and leathery. She is very sensitive, and being poked by something even slightly sharp, or a little tug at her hair hurts her. Some people think she's a wimp, but she truly is sensitive.
Thistle usually wears a different version of the same clothes. She'll have multiple pairs of the same article of clothing in her closet, and constantly has to remind people she isn't wearing the same clothes. She likes wearing skirts, and has a pair of tennis shoes she wears around most places. You could say she's well-off for someone in District 6, as her dad is the butcher. She isn't that well though as she seems.
Thistle is very sweet once you get to know her, and get over her bad qualities. She'll forgive if you have good cause to be forgiven, and usually is very good at keeping her temper in tact. She's also very creative and imaginative, and likes to pretend things, such as being a fairy. Even at her age, she acts like a child of five or six. She doesn't want to grrow up, of course, but how many teenagers will prance around telling people her name was Rumpelstiltzken-the-Girl-not-the-Boy? Or make a paper hat and run around singing children's songs? She even talks like a young child.History:
With the way she acts, Thistle needs help with nearly everything. From where to go to choosing what song she'll sing today. She's also very timid, and doesn't make friends as easy as an actual young child would. She's very curious, always asking questions. Along with that, is considered 'crazy' or 'insane' by many, because of how she acts, and what she seems to see and hear that others do not.
Thistle likes to hum, and she often can be heard doing it in class. She likes the feel of the vibrations in throat. She occasionally sleep walks, and can go quite a long distance before running into something. She also talks in her sleep often, sometimes even yelling out. During the day, if she isn't humming, she's mumbling to herself the thoughts that come through her mind. She finds it easier to say the thoughts than to think them. She tugs on her hair when she's a little nervous, and when severely nervous goes into emotional breakdowns. When a little more than mildly nervous, and a little less than terribly nervous, she will simply begin to stutter and bite her fingernails. When she thinks someone is mad at her, she'll apologize without need.
Thistle was born in a merchant family in District 6 to parents Grettel and Benjamin Nine. Her brother, Kyle, was a bit upset about losing his attention. Like most siblings, he fought with her and she would, as the younger, go running to Mommy and Daddy. When she was 5, he grew annoyed with her and pushed her off down the stairs one summer. She had fallen over, but a jagged broken pole on her way down put a gash deep into her leg. Of course, she had cried and cried.Codeword: oDair
Now, when she was 6, her brother lashed out again. Before we speak of this, let me tell you she had always been a bit slow on growing up. It was a sweet spring day, and they were outside, fighting, as per usual. Kyle had gotten extremely mad at Thistle for her talking and talking, and threw a fold-up chair at her. This had happened on the porch, and since Kyle was a strong kid, and Thistle was such a fragile young girl, she was knocked to the ground where she fell completely silent. She sat there, staring into nothingness for a while. She became scared of him, and slowly, he began to let his anger out on her even when it wasn't her fault. That is how she began apologizing without need. And soon enough, by the time she was 8, he had driven her to insanity. She had hallucinations of him being therw when he wasn't, and thought she could hear his heavy tred when he was fast asleep.
Kyle continued abusing her, and her parents didn't know. Since they thought her to be crazy anyways, they never guessed that some of the things she said weren't hallucinations. For some reason, they were only ever around when she was hallucinating. Although one day, when she was 12, her parents saw something that nearly broke their hearts. They walked into Thistle's room to tuck her in and kiss her goodnight, when they say Kyle throw a glass cup at her. They had been shocked, and, not knowing how to handle the particular situation, simply sent him to his room. They had comforted Thistle and apologized for never noticing, but she had gone into hysterics, crying and curling into a ball. They were unable to contain Kyle, because somehow or another he always ended up in her room. They didn't want to send their only son away, who was supposed to take over the butcher's shop when he died.
When Thistle turned fifteen, Kyle ran way. He didn't like living there, and Thistle's parents where devestated. They couldn't leave the shop to a girl who'd gone mad! They still loved her, of course, ver ymuch, but it just wouldn't do. She was beyond repair, and still is that way. This is how her life has to be now, and she always wonders if he's ever going to come back. She still occasionally sees him, in her halluzinations. Every night she hears him calling her. He's in her dreams, waking and sleeping.
