Age: 13
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Rose is shorter than most of the other students at the height of 4 feet and 5 inches. This is from her genetic disorder, Turner's Syndrome, which causes her to be unable to naturally concieve children. She doesn't have acne like other teenagers because puberty hasn't hit her yet (when it does, she won't grow or change much). She looks to others, usually one to two years younger than she is.Personality:
She has muscular arms (more than usual girls, due to a trait from her father), and dainty hands from her mother. Her hands are soft and silky smooth. She has straight, brown hair paired with her ocean, blue eyes. She typically wears her hair down to sway with the salty-air.
She usually wears pale blue dresses that have sequins that remind many of pearls. She usually has a pink bikini underneath her dresses because of her love for swimming. When she swims her hair is darker than usual and can defy gravity (her hair can stick up when wet). She appears to others to be as normal as can be, other than her many freckles and her height. She occasionally covers her freckles with make-up because she despises them.
She has Turner's Syndrome, something that many don't have, so this has inspired her to become a scientist so she study about it. She may be a Career, but this is her second option if she can't get in the games. Her mother and her father love her, although they know of her 'special' problem. Luckily for her, her parents are part of the higher section of the district so they are saving up money for treatment (this wouldn't cure it but it would cause her to grow taller). She hates having her 'problem' (as her parents call it) and know that she is the reason that her parents (even though they love her lots) didn't have another child. Her evidence is that before they found out about her condition, that they were talking about her having a new sibling and after, they stopped, never delivering their promise (this was irrational of the parents because it isn't a carried gene, its only a gene that happens when something goes awry).History:
Only her friends know of her special case and tend to accept her for it. The only people she reveals it to are her close family members and close friends because she scared that it may scare off boys or people might ridicule her for it. To be honest, she wants to like boys, but isn't exactly feeling the urge to do anything like kiss them. She acts like she likes them because she wants to be like everyone else (at least in that regard).
She can be really shy because although she accepts her condition, she is still insecure about it. She is motherly because of her experience with past small children and others younger than her in age. The fact that she has a motherly nature, also reinforces her insecurity of herself. Secretly, she wants to have a child on her own, to raise.
She is great at throwing knives and has a knack for being able to use weapons that are too heavy for many. Her trainers have her specialize in close combat situations because she is unable to use long-range weapons effectively. They have taught her Kung Fu, how to throw knives, Karate, fencing, and spearing. She can swim with a great amount of agility from the fishing trips she makes with her family and friends. Also her trainers have taught her basic survival skills and predicting moves of opponents.
When Rose became 1 year old, at her physician's office, she found out about her disorder. The physician didn't break the news in a kind manner, he just stated the fact. He was blunt, without being around the bush a bit, he just stated it. Her parents, at first, were scared that it was a carried gene, but he explained that it wasn't something another child of their's would most likely have. It wasn't a super rare condition, but it wasn't extremely common for children. The manner they broke the news to her impacted her negatively, and the way her parents acted worsened it. This helped her become more insecure about her situation.[/font]
Right after they diagnosed her with her disorder, she was entered into a research center so they could study her. She went around with the younger kids and read a book, they talked, she treated them like a mother. They didn't have the parents around, so the kids felt like they needed someone to take care of them, to nuture them. She began to later in her life, realize she wanted a kid. Wanting became less over the years, but the trait still remained, looming over her. Her nature almost seemed to mock her.
She began right after they took her out of the center (she was 4 at the time), to train. She met most of her friends at that moment of her life, her parents decided that, then they would love her. To be honest, before they learned of her natural ability to throw knives, they didn't accept their own child. She proved her worth they told themselves.
After they began to love their child, they showed her the business of how to fish. For her safety, they first taught her how to swim. She had a lot of difficulty using her muscles to propel her and staying afloat. It took them weeks, until she miraclously, began to swim. She then on was the best swimmer they had ever seen, then they began to teach her the rest, sure that she was meant to be fisherman.
