Austin Porter District 6

My character has brown eyes. He has brown hair that never stays neat. Perhaps because of all his lab mishaps. He once came out of his lab with a tiger tail on his butt! He is caucasion, and stout. Bit pimply and has freckles on his face.
Can't keep a book down so you imagine him as nerdy. Needs glasses to read which also contributes to his geekiness. Wears clothes he finds in donation bins in front of stores. He dances geekily whenever something good happens to him, like finding a lottery ticket that was an accidental winner because the last owner had forgotten about the final square. Filthy from explosions and rummaging donation bins for good reads.

He's very intelligent and fairly wise. He has the biggest smart-mouth you have ever seen. He has a small library in his parent's old room that he made from the books he had collected from the donation bins or had bought in garage sales. He sleeps in there sometimes when he misses his parents. Still trying to analyze why he survived though.
He is eager for the Games and wishes to volunteer one day knowing that the odds may not be in his favor. He had the urge to vounteer for the 60th one but remembered he was way to young. Shoot! Oh well, he probably would have died anyways! Hopefully one day he will not be able to resist to volunteer or get picked from the reaping balls!

Born in District 6. Duh! Grew up watching the Games and ever since then been fighting and training like a career. Somewhat. Wanted to win for District 6 since nearly none of the Games he has been alive for have had a winner from 6. Austin didn't want to voluteer last year because the male tribute was a boy he despised greatly. Austin didn't know why he hated that boy's guts but he did!
He has an early memory in which his parents bought him a chemistry set and Austin had been working with it all afternoon and eventually blew up his playpen! Austin's parents would have been proud but they died from the fumes of the explosion. Austin has been scrounging for every bit of money he can find since the small fortune his parents left him has almost been used up. Been an orphan ever since and did well in school with tutors every know and then. He has no idea why he survived the fumes but he did somehow!
Has had great grades in school while maintining his will to survive. Even though he had a lot of money back then, he often went to bed starving most nights because he had no will to survive when he got home. Austin was in every class he had thought would be fun, chemistry, biology, calculus, stuff like that. But he dropped a lot of subjects because he didn't agree with them, like music. He liked listening to it but not creating it. Or PE, he didn't have any hand-eye coordination because hespent too much time reading.
