Age: Seventeen.
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Oriana nearly looks like her late mother, apart from her height that she gets directly from her father's side of the family. Her height is at five feet six inches, her weight is roughly one hundred and thirty, though she's mostly full of muscle due to the fact she helps out her father with work and the fishing that a majority of other adults and late age teenagers do around the fourth district. Her skin though is a bit pale-ish, though it is most defiantly somewhat tan due to the fact that she works outside quite a bit. It probably stays a little bit pale due to her mother's genes. Oriana's hair is a pitch black, but yet it does appear to have a unique navy blueish tint. Thus appearing a near raven black-blue. Oriana's eyes are a perfect match to her mother's, though with a slight hint of her father's. Oriana has off gray coloured eyes, but yet when the light catches at a certain point, they apparently have an electric blue appearance to them. Her body appears to be lean, and she has a slim body shape, somewhat hourglass in sense, but yet she does have muscle from work when she isn't attending the schooling program. On Oriana's left hand, from the side of her thumb, from the bottom to near the tip of the side, is a noticeable line. This is when she was gutting a fish for dinner and the knife slipped, cutting her hand. Lucky for Oriana that it did not affect her mobility with it.Personality:
Oriana's usual day clothes consist of a black tank-top that she usually wears when working outside on the nicer warm days, or underneath a heavier shirt or a jacket. Her shirts usually vary between the black hue or the white hue colour line. Oriana's father gave his daughter a belt in order to keep her loose fitting pants around her waist, though she usually misplaces it after a while... Oriana wears faded blue jeans that do have a couple of rips, though it usually doesn't even bother her. Yet her father believes she needs to change her choice of clothes, though she denies trying to find guys at the moment.
She isn't exactly what she appears to be to other people. Oriana is actually a quiet young woman who works hard with her father, even though she continues to try and do good in school that way no one suspects anything strange going on with her. Oriana's secluded personality leaves her to not having a lot of friends, meanwhile she has at least four close friends who understand her for who she is. This side of Oriana is actually more of a follower than a leader. Her qualities are that of someone who would rather listen than speak her mind in a large crowd of people. Oriana's mind is always open, leaving her to think about what other people say to her. Yet, she isn't that quick to embrace new ideas that people try push onto her.History:
When Oriana meets new people, she's actually curious about them, even though she's a quiet person. It's only when the other person begins to open up to Oriana that she actually becomes a bit more warm and happily speaks to the other person. In the beginning, she's quite shaky with what she should be saying, or what the topic should be. Mostly because she's afraid of picking a subject that the other person might not be comfortable with. Though, the one thing about friends is Oriana is afraid of actually creating closer friends [beyond the four closer ones]. This is mostly because she fears one of two things; Either they get picked for the Hunger Games, or Oriana herself gets picked for the Games. This leads her with a conflict, befriend and mourn, or be alone and stressed?
Oriana isn't really the kind to date or have a certain romantic relationship unless she truly feels extremely comfortable with someone. Not to mention that the only crush that she ever had was on one of her close four friends; Lukas. However after being rejected, she's felt alone and hopeless about achieving any sort of romantic relationship with someone. This has lead to her not caring about her personality, appearance, or anything else. Especially if one day that the two of them could possibly be in the Hunger Games.
Her mother was known as Lillian Icarus, while her father's name is known as Odin Icarus. They were lucky as teenagers, never to be picked for the Hunger Games. However, Odin at one point had been picked for the games, yet his older brother decided to take his place when he was fifteen, telling his brother that he should make the most of his life, and to remember him as a older brother, not as a tribute.[/color][/center][/blockquote]Codeword: Odair
Thus the two finally met when they were around the age of nineteen in District Four. Around the age of Twenty-Three, Lillian managed to give birth to her only daughter, and later soon to be only child with Odin. It was a healthy baby girl that Lillian decided to name Oriana, saying that she was sure that her daughter would grow up strong, possibly like Odin. Secretly hiding the fact she named her daughter after Odin, in a sense that only made sense to Lillian.
Around the age of three years old, her mother had fallen ill with a sickness that wasn't usually seen. There had been a couple of cases where it had been seen, but usually ever other year or so. The very few local doctors tried to help Lillian get better quickly, though there was no avail. The herbs needed were not in the district and sadly they could not get imported. By the time her mother had passed away, Oriana was nearing the age of four years old, barely understanding the reason her mother would not be returning home at night on the day of her birthday. Odin, mourning over his wife's death, finally accepted the fact he would have to be the best father he could be in order to make sure his daughter would have a happy life.
And that's what happened for the earlier parts of Oriana's life. Neighbors would help Odin out with raising Oriana, the wives of Odin's co-workers would come and babysit Oriana with their own children if they had time, leaving her to have many mother figures and become friends with their own children.
Though upon reaching her teen years, and getting into school left Oriana with something else, she felt out of place, and she was secluded from everyone else. This feeling caused Oriana to slowly withdrawing herself from other people, but yet still remaining close friends with those that she'd play with as a little girl.
Because Oriana didn't pay attention to a lot of things, and not as social as a young girl usually is expected to be. Instead she tried helping out her father even though they had enough food and money, Oriana felt as if she had to repay him for raising her all on his own, of which her father kept on telling her not to worry about. However, she felt lucky that she managed to find a part time job while she could still attend the 'brainwashing' school that all children had to attend to. This job allowed her to easily help her family continue to stay stable, and keep everyone happy around her.
Every year though, Oriana would stand there in the crowd appearing proper as ever during the time they would pick those for the Hunger Games. Each time, she knew her father would be holding his breath, feeling as if he was standing there again. Oriana was never picked, and luckily none of her four friends were. Even on normal routine days, may it be nearing the Reaping or afterwards, she'll look off into the sea and wonder, what if she had been picked?
Recently, after turning the age of seventeen, she's wondering if it's this year she'll be Reaped, or her final year at the age of eighteen. Every day, as she watches the sun go down, she mutters one thing to herself, allowing the words to be carried on the wind;"I will be free."
Comments/Other:
--- Oriana is swift when it comes to dealing damage and attack, especially with small bladed objects such as a gutting knife, normal knife, or anything bladed.
--- Though the Fourth District isn't open and stretches far [due to the near by coast], she's learned to be swift and able to run with ease and not worrying about tiring out quickly.
-- Her aiming, such as throwing or possibly with arrows, is slim to nothing basically. Oriana was born without depth perception, leaving her with a hard time when it comes to aiming or catching something. Odin promises that one day, it'll click in her head and she'll be able to see it.
-- It is only known to be her own personal flaw, but Oriana has a hard time remembering the face of her mother, only the sensation on how protected she felt whenever her mother would hold her. Deep within her heart, Oriana felt as if no one truly wanted to help Lillian, and distrusts any doctor that might come towards her or Odin.
