The girl isn't what most would call beautiful, but she thinks that beauty is a not useful trait that one might possess.

First off, her hair is a dark, chocolate color that is quite faded. It falls down to the middle of her chest, where it is cut quite unevenly. Her hair is naturally straight, in which she loves. It is usually put up in a high ponytail since she hates having her hair on her neck. She also has short bangs that cover her forehead and go to the middle of her eyes. She doesn't mind having her hair cover up some of her sight, as she almost has perfect vision.

Her eyes are why most people are intimidated by her. She has very cold eyes, as they are the color of a light blue ice cube. They seem to be the lightest on the outside of her eyes, and the color seems to appear almost silver. Around her pupils, her eyes are the color of the sky on a sunny day, as it is darker than the rest of her eyes. The whites in her eyes are pure, and she has naturally long eyelashes. On the other hand, her eyes almost always have bags under them from working very hard.

Ember's face shape is an oval rounding. Her eyebrows arch just a bit, and are a bit darker than her hair. Her eyes are almond shaped, and her nose is a Greek-styled nose. Her ears are smaller than normal, but she doesn't mind. Her lips are usually rough and chapped, but they always have a light pink tint to them. Her teeth are a bit crooked and they're an off-white color. Her cheeks make it look like she's always blushing, though she doesn't mind it. She has a single dimple when she smiles or when she's concentrating, which appears on her left cheek. Lastly, she has a scar right above her left eyebrow from getting in an accident when she was at work.

She is fairly short for her age, only standing at a mere 5'3" and most people underestimate her ability. Her neck is a bit longer than most. Her arms are fairly muscular, especially for a girl, but her arms aren't bulky as most people think of as muscular. She has rough and dirty hands from working in the oil rig. Though she is muscular, she cannot lift very much due to her small figure. She is fairly flat chested, and she doesn't mind it either. Her stomach is small, and she barely has any hips. Her calves are muscular as well as her lower leg. She has very strong feet as well, as she mostly goes barefoot everywhere. But since she does go barefoot almost everywhere, she has extremely dirty feet. Lastly, the girl is almost as pale as the snow that falls. She doesn't have any freckles, nor does she care to have any.

The girl is a very quick runner and climber. When at work, they use her to climb onto the oil rigs to fix leaks and make her run errands. She works with scraps quite often, and she has learned to make anything around her into something useful. She only eats a small meal every day, so she is no stranger to starvation.

Ember can only afford raggedy clothes, but that's the way she likes it. She normally wears one of her two black tangtops, some cargo pants or some black pants, and she prefers no shoes, though she has a pair of combat boots. She usually ties her hair up in a strand of wire, and sometimes puts it in a bow. The girl runs every where she goes usually.

Ember looks like the girl in the photo, with some simple appearance changes including her pale skin, her scar, etc.

Personality:

On the outside, the girl is very quiet and kept to herself. She is not really a people person, though when she does talk, the words that come out of her mouth seem to be overbearing and have some sort of power put in them. She is an observer. She always looks for the weakness inside and outside of everybody. She can detect it very easily, as she's extremely good at reading people.

Once you first meet Ember, she seems fairly nice. She will start up a nice conversation with you, but she is very deceiving. She is like a human lie detector. She really only talks to people for her personal knowledge. She can become your best friend, but then your realize that she's a little...off. She has a greedy need to learn something about everyone. She gets easily side tracked, but she is a multi-tasker. When she gets the chance and you feel safe with her, she will most likely stab you in the back. She will toss you aside like you're her little puppy that she doesn't care about anymore.

But, if you do somehow strike something with her and change her, she will do anything she can to protect you. She will sacrifice herself for you, as most people aren't let into her circle.

Despite her weird qualities, she is a very hard worker and wants to feel like she's working towards something. She won't do it if she knows that she isn't gaining anything for it. She is a fairly calm and confident person. She rarely gets sad or mad, as she doesn't see the point in doing so.

History:

Ember is the first, and only, child born in her family. Her mother, father, and herself live in a small shack in the barracks of District 5. Her family is very poor, but she doesn't mind. Ember and her father are very close, as they are each other supporters. Her father is a gambler, and always gambles excessively during the games. He's taught her everything she needed to know, from being a careful observer to not trusting people.

Her mother stays at home because her mother isn't very stable. She has schizophrenia, in which she isn't in touch with reality. Ember cares for her mother after school, but on the weekends she works with her father at the oil rig to get extra money for food. She always carries around a wire that she toys with to keep her entertained.

At the oil rig, she is one of the youngest. She doesn't mind it though, as she works as hard as anyone else there. She is very skilled at fixing leaks and climbing the oil towers quickly. She also runs into town and grabs whatever extra tools the employees need. She loves working there, as it keeps her entertained.

At school, she rarely talks to anyone. There, she is a very smart girl, but she doesn't show it except on paper. She never speaks up in class, but she will defend herself. Ember walks confidently, but won't say a word unless spoken to. She always wears a smirk in school, in which some people find it weird. What they don't know is that she observes every one of them, and if they ever try to mess with her or her family, she will fight with knowledge and words, and not fight with fists.

Her background is fine and not very bad, and she likes to keep it that way. She knows if anyone ever messed with her family, she would find them and be their worst nightmare. She is always skeptical about her father getting hurt from the gambling he does, but she would protect him from anything. Some people in her district are intimidated by her, and some think she's a freak from her mother. She doesn't care how most people think of her, as she could care less about anyone other than her mother and father.
