Elsie Tanner D4

Elsie is small for her age, thin and petite, barely reaching five feet. She has a delicate oval shaped face, complete with wide, expressive blue eyes, thick laches and full, rosy lips. Wavy, golden blonde locks fall just past her shoulders, usually found in a bit of a scruffy mess, unless her mother gets her hands on her. Other than being a underweight, Elsie is healthy and fit, but by no means is she throwing around anthing of considerable weight. Compared to some in her district, particularly the careers, Elsie looks like a scrawny rag doll.

Her most prominent physical flaw is an old scar running down the left side of her innocent - looking face. She has a collection of other scars, most much smaller in size, from various activities. Her would - be - soft skin is a bit more worn and rougher than her mother approves of, as is her her preffered clothing. She's usually found in a simple dres, much to her disapproval, and either leather sandals or boots.

Elsie doesn't have the timid sort of personality you might expect from someone so small. She is quiet and sensible, but still as friendly and amiable as ever, even towards strangers. Now for the tricky bit. She's not one to waltz up to a stranger and strike up a conversation, however she will happily confront anyone about practically anything, and this forwardness tends not to be the best aspect of her personality.

Elsie will never be the most lady like girl out there, no matter how hard her mother tries. She's usually pretty laid back, but that can easily swicth off to stubborness. Otherwise, Elsie is the chipper twelve year old skipping down the the street on her way to school. Those who don't know her would never guess otherwise.

As intellegent as she is, Elsie is still a child, and therefore still naive. She's not overly trusting, and not too-too easily brainwashed (she does in fact have her own opinion about the Capitol), but obviously she's not going to catch everything. Now of course, like every child, Elsie has her mischevious side, but perhaps hers is a bit worse than some at times. She loves to play tricks, mostly on her mother, and above all, adores the outdoors.

Elsie had a fairly average child hood. Her family was straight out of a child's cartoon. Her father was a successful bussiness man, but not in fishing as you would expect. Instead the bussiness centered around the creation of fishing nets, leaving Elsie with some lovely knot tying skills, which she uses to her advantage in any way she can.

Elsie lives in a decent sized house with her parents and older brother. Mom constantly fussing over her appearance, her father laughing at Elsie's resisitance, gently chiding her mother to let her a little more freedom. Elsie grew up racing around the district without a care in the world with her older brother and several other children living nearby. Now, most of the other children knew how to swim and were fine at it, her brother included.

Elsie, however, had never been taught, never had a true reason to be in the water near her home. That is until, several years ago now, the rest of her crowd decided it a fine to take a swim. Elsie had desperately wanted to join in their fun, diving neatly of the pier and splashing one another. She took a a chance, deciding that if the rest of them could do it, so could she. Unfortunately, the girl was quite incorrect, winding up floundering fearfully around in the water, several feet over head, until her brother hauled her out. Elsie has since remained a safe distance from the shore.
