Thyme Keene - D6 - Completed

Thyme is thin and short, though her body type wouldn't necessarily be deemed 'frail' or 'skinny'. She is, however, delicate and petite in all areas apart from her face, which is youthfully well-rounded, particularly in her cheeks. Though on occasion people have guessed Thyme to be a year or two younger, most are able to guess her age based on her appearance alone.

Thyme has a large, slightly disproportionate head topped off with curly orange-red locks. She usually keeps her hair pinned or pushed back, exposing her wide forehead and softly-curved red-brown brows. The girl's ears are much too big even for her large head, which other children have rudely reminded her of in the past.

Even though District Six isn't poor in comparison to other districts, Thyme owns a very minimally-sized wardrobe. The few outfits that she does own are clean and plain, devoid of any designs and are often intended for males. The girl tends to favor whites, light blues, and dull greys, and almost always sports a pair of well-worn white overalls over the rest of her clothing.

Thyme has often been described as sweet because of her polite, quiet nature. From a young age, Thyme's parents encouraged the girl to practice basic manners, teaching her that a rude attitude never got anybody far in life. As a result, Thyme almost never speaks to anybody unless spoken to first, unless, of course, it's required of her.

As could be expected from someone from District Six, Thyme loves to care for others. Whenever somebody she's close to gets hurt or falls ill, the girl takes it upon herself to nurse them back to health. Despite her young age, Thyme has a rather extensive knowledge when it comes to first aid due to years of acting as a nurse.

Being an only child, Thyme has had a long time to get used to being alone. Even though the girl enjoys the company of others, she's more than able to take care of herself on the odd day when her parents need to stay late at work. Due to her quiet, almost shy nature, Thyme is hardly the best at making friends, though the few friendships she does have are usually incredibly hard to break.

Thyme grew up in a very protecting environment. She was babied as a child; her parents, Pansy and Rickardo, were always sure to keep their daughter from learning about the harsh realities of the world. Both of Thyme's parents worked as nurses in one of the local infirmaries and were rather well-off for district citizens. They chose, however, to keep their occupation from their daughter, believing it to be too

This went on up until she was nine or ten and she first began working as her mother's assistant. Even though Thyme's parents were nervous about how their little girl would react to blood, gore, sickness and death, she took it surprisingly well. After Thyme's first few years at the D6 school, it became apparent that her skills rested solely in medicine, which wasn't uncommon for children of the district. Her parents were proud, and both of them currently hope that Thyme chooses to follow in their footsteps.

Thyme never understood the Hunger Games. To the small girl, all the Games leads to is unnecessary death, which is hardly something that anybody should celebrate. Nonetheless, she knows how the Reaping works, and hopes with every fiber of her being that her name will never be chosen. Her parents have forbidden her to put her name in more than the required amount. Though that means she has less of a chance of getting picked than many other children in the district, she knows that there's always the possibility.
