History

- Twin sister, but also a middle child.
- Her parents tried to hide their children from the world's horrors, giving them happy childhoods
- More siblings, mother laid off, and the Colburn family grew poorer.
- Horrified the first time she saw the Hunger Games, and felt obliged to bring life to this world full of death.
- Starting planting a flower for each dead life and has continued the tradition for years--new lives to replace those that were ended. When her yard was full, she planted them elsewhere. Her parents think it's a mere artistic hobby.
- Her mother is constantly stressed about income, and therefore Juniper has drawn out her unrealistic plan to win the Hunger Games.
- She's slowly trying to get over her fear of death by disciplining herself into causing it. She started with flies and spiders, and now she carries a small knife in her pocket, a killer of birds, squirrels, and mice--her supposed "training" for the games. She plants a flower for each of them, thinking it will make up for what was lost.
- The flowers, the knife--it's all getting quite a bit out of hand.
