The Cornucopia, once a golden beacon of promise was now an empty, blood-stained shell that sparked little hope in the veins of Locust Lovelace. What started as a prize - perhaps even a trophy for those who stayed long enough to claim it - was now just a remnant of a bloody storm, offering little supply to those who missed the opportunity to raid it. Her own opportunity had vanished once her severed ear struck the earth, and now it was far too late to claim any of the real treasures. Armor, medical kits; it has all been stolen by greedy hands. The hands of Yaa Valarro’s alliance, no doubt. How they had managed to dominate such chaos while she was present was beyond her knowledge (perhaps it was because my allies were scattered, and because Cleo Sullivan could not keep her word), but it was wasteful to dwell on such matters. Now was the time for recoveries and aftershocks, not regrets.
Checking twice for wandering stragglers she stepped out of her makeshift lookout and approached the Cornucopia with heavy pessimism and high doubts. She would be lucky to find a pair of pliers, maybe even a colored cloak to use as a blanket for the evenings. What she actually expected to find, however, was a hollow stomach. The mouth of the cornucopia was wide and somewhat intimidating, but it was the inside that mattered to her, not its blood-spattered coat. As she stepped beneath the shade she sighed at the diminished inventory - there was no variety or decent quantity by the looks of it. She figured she might as well turn her back and return to the forests before an unwelcome guest acted upon an identical desire for wealth, but a general lack of concern persuaded her into closely examining its bowels instead. As anticipated she found nothing worth the trip. There were chests with missing keys and items that she did not want, and that was all. She was hardly disappointed by the unsurprising outcome.
A sigh escaped her as she exited the Cornucopia and its worthless stock. She was prepared to turn away and head into one of the forests in search of her allies when something pricked her senses. Despite having tragically lost her right ear in battle, she could still detect other bodies when they loitered closely nearby. She quickly halted and veered toward the source of this disturbance, hands gripping her weapon with newfound aggression, only to discover that it was Yaa Valarro. Her muscles relaxed upon catching sight of her through the fog, but she remained on high alert even as she lowered her weapon to signify peace. ”Yaa,” she greeted, the strange name now familiar to her tongue. ”What a pleasant surprise." she offered a playful smile and tilted her head, eyeing her from head to toe. By the looks of it, she had barely been touched. "Actually, scratch that. I'm not at all surprised to see you here."
