Otto Redpath, District 6

Otto Redpath is a boy with average height and an oval-shaped face. His eyes are a very dark shade of brown, and they are small and almond-shaped. His eyelashes are short, and his brows are thick, short, and have a tendency to furrow when he is concentrating or thinking hard. His nose is small, and is congested more often than other peoples' noses. His lips are a medium pink shade. His teeth are horrible: crooked and always yellow, no matter how much he brushes them, which is a cause of scolding from his grandmother. His chin is circular and his ears are regular sized.

Otto's hair is a deep shade of brown, almost, but not quite, black. It is slightly greasy, and gets tangled easily. He already about fifteen grey hairs on his right side, just above his ear. His hair is short and comes down just above neck. It tends to get in his eyebrows a lot. He does not take very good care of it, and as a result, it is very messy and rumpled from running his hand through it.

As a result of staying inside and reading instead of going outside and exercising, Otto is out of shape and very non-muscular. In spite of his inactivity, he is still very slim, as he does not like food and barely eats anything. He can't lift much, but, like the rest of his family, he is a very fast runner. He has also trained himself in combat with a sword and an axe. His nails are short, too short, as they grow very slowly. His fingers are long and his arms come down to the middle of his knees.

Due to his skinniness, you can see all of the bones in Otto's body. His ribs point out. He has a a long scar on his back from his father beating him, and freckles all over his body. He is tall for his age, and has a mole on his right cheek that has been the subject of ridicule from his peers. He has burn marks all over his body from his the fire that burned down his house.

Otto's personality traits are much the same as the rest of his families. His primary motivator in life is knowledge. He is mostly apathetic, showing little or no emotions; when he does have emotions, he tends to hide them as best as he can, which he acknowledges and considers to be one of his worst flaws. He is slightly emotionally unstable, being very easy to anger. He is very pessimistic about most everything, not looking on the bright side in sticky situations and instead complaining about the cons. Despite this, he is very hard working and meticulous (he even has some OCD). He prefers to think decisions through before executing them.

Otto is very timid and cautious. He is able to handle bad situations, but has had trouble watching other people die on TV in past Hunger Games, as he is very sympathetic with other people and does not like the sight of blood.

He has never forgave himself for provoking his father to burn his house. Also, he has had trouble trusting and loving ever since most of the ones he naturally loved were dead. He is much more intelligent than most people his age but is made fun of for the way he keeps to himself and his low athletic skill. When he is an adult, he aspires to be a mathematician, just like his parents were.

Otto was born on the day that the Fifty-Second Hunger Games begun, and this was also the day that his cousin Phox died in the Bloodbath. Phox's funeral took place just hours after Otto's birth when Phox's body arrived from the Capitol. His birth was completely overshadowed by grief and mourning.

When Otto was four, his father's parents died in an accident. Overcome by grief, his father turned to alcohol, and began to beat his children. This is how Otto got his long scar on his back. He has never forgiven his father for becoming an alcoholic. When he was seven, his father abandoned the family. He was never found.

At school, Otto was ridiculed for being the smartest and the most eager to learn. At first Otto was angry at them, but he has learned to cope with their ridicule, as well as the fact that his father is gone forever. His family tells him that, due to his birth, he is destined to be in the Hunger Games.
