The Anthem - Day 2

Due to the thick fog that coats the arena, it is nearly impossible to tell when the arena begins to darken, but once night falls it is entirely noticeable, as any semblance of visibility declines to nothing without the few tendrils of sunlight penetrating the fog. The sound of arrogant trumpets takes hold, and the arena is briefly lit up by the incandescent seal of the Capitol as the anthem begins to play. The faces of the dead begin to display, one after another, the grim visages of the tributes whose cannons have already been fired.

As the anthem ends, the final image fades, once more leaving the sky lifeless.

*** Due to not posting outside of the Bloodbath, the following fate befell Jaime Lyon: The thick fog that hangs like death over the arena got the better of Jaime Lyon's sense of navigation. Unknowingly, he managed to wander away from the bloodbath and directly into a den of two Dart Jaguars, who did not take kindly to the intrusion. The bright green larger of the two males quickly snatched Jaime up by the leg, dragging him to the desolate Tar Pits, abandoning him with various scrapes and bruises, and taking off with his foot. [Jaime receives 16 damage and loses his right foot at the ankle. He is poisoned from the Dart Jaguar.]
