Appearance:
Perfect if you would. On the outside anyway. His eyes are a sea storm green, or tornado cloud green. Whichever is easier for someone to imagine, as he says. The change colors, often to suit his mood. They are often sea green, which would allow someone to assume he was content or even happy. When he is angry they turn a stormy grey. When he is afraid or scared, they turn a stormy blue. His hair is a long dirty blond and his nose is just the right length. Though his skin (and very tan mind you) is flawless on the outside, it hides many flaws and scars on the inside.Personality:
He is tall, 6'1. His body very fit and muscular. Again, flawless. But not enough to mask what he has suffered. His biceps bulge slightly and his stomach is defined, a four pack visible when he takes off his shirt. His arms and slightly muscular, as are his legs, but not very bulgy. His veins are slightly visible, just a little bit. But they are constant reminders of what he really is, his definition. His muscularity.
He is a door mat. Someone who is afraid to say no. He has always put himself before others, but to a lethal extent. If someone where to be in a terrible danger, he would step in the way. If a Peace Keeper where to whip someone or even execute them publicly, he would step up for them, stranger or not. That is why he is a Career, or at least training to be one. To ensure his safety when he has to step up to save someone from the Reaping. A false sense of security he liked to call it.History:
His father was abusive. His mother is a drunk abuser. The difference between the two is that his father is deceased and his mother isn't. He often spends the night in alley ways, or a friend's house. Or not. When is mother isn't home and is at a bar he will go home, and rest in the silence. she often comes home late those nights and forgets she has a son, heading to bed. When he wakes up in the morning she is asleep with the residue of alcohol, sleeping through the mornings.
The beatings come during the days, or the nights when she does come home drunk and remembers that he exists. The are rough, resulting in black eyes and painful blisters. Split lips and shallow cuts. Sometimes she would take knives to him or even broken bottles. When he was younger the beatings were worse because her mother had to deal with the heart break of his fathers death and he wasn't strong. He was weak and feral. In his mothers words he was a twerp. Worthless and would never contribute to the growth of Panem. So he began training as a Career when he was 10.
He now shoots to be in the Hunger Games. It's his only escape from his life. His mother no longer cares for him and when she beats him she blames him. For the death of his father. For the suffering of her alcoholism.
For the wrongs that were done when she was little. For the wrongs that existed in the world today. And for that he has always tried to correct them. To make everyone happy and try to right their wrongs.
And he is a doormat...
And always will be.
When he was 7 his father died. A quick death. He died in the mines. Murdered. That's what the Peace Keepers said anyway. They said someone came from behind him and struck him with a pickaxe. It killed him, Jonathan that is. He didn't know why it hurt him, because his father hit him all the time. Drove him to the point of hiding all day long and crying all damn night. Of course, it killed his mother too. Drove her to point of drinking the days away.Codeword: Odair
When he was 10 he started his Career training. He was interested in the Hunger Games. While most people in his District saw it as a way to get rich and famous he saw it as a way out, whether through death or winning and leaving his mom behind if he won. He wanted a way out. He didn't care how. He also saw the training as a way to become a Peacekeeper which would allow him to stop people like his mother when he was older. The brutal training also put him in shape, making it easier for him to take the abuse.
When he turned 13 he began leaving the house at nights, hoping to completely avoid his mother altogether. He decided it was safer then staying home and waiting for a beating that got worse and worse as time went on. He even offered to work for the workers in order to sleep in one of the their homes. He would clean their houses, cook for them, run small errands for them, things of the like. They even gave him pay sometimes. It was a good life outside of home...
