Sydney Cordrey, District 4

Sydney is a rather skinny girl. Her overall appearance doesn't stand out in the crowd, but she does try to stand out to those she cares most about. Her sea blue eyes are what her father calls "The Pearls of District Four," though with her self confidence she doesn't believe it to be true. When Sydney was young she had a fishing accident with a fisher using a net. The result was a long scar reaching out across her belly.

Sydney's brown hair is a prime gene coming from her father. While it is naturally brown, sometimes Sydney will find various ingredients to make it different colors so she can stand out in the crowd. Sydney also has long arms and long legs, which often help her when she is fishing.

Sydney is a very quiet fifteen year old girl. She doesn't stand out, as much as she tries to. She is shy, and she hates herself for being shy and is trying very hard to overcome her shyness, but every once and awhile she slips up and hides back in her shell of a world. Sydney knows that she would rather stay in that small shell, but that she needed to be strong, and embrace the world as it is.

Sydney's parents got divorced at a young age, and then remarried. During the divorce, she thought that it was all her fault, so she began to question herself and all of her motives. Later on this insecurity grew into other things, and that is originally what caused her to be so shy.

Sydney's insecurity and shyness only led to one other major thing: Depression. She was constantly depressed, and had actually attempted to commit suicide when she was 12, which was when her depression spiraled over the top. Since then it has mellowed down, as has Sydney, and all she really wants is to get noticed by her parents, and to get noticed by others.

Sydney was born on February 21st to a soon to be divorced couple, yet later remarried. Her parents had gotten divorced when she was four, and her mother gained custody. Sydney grew up in the more poor section of District 4, where theft is common. She learned that she needed to fend for herself and her family. But when she was seven, her mother and herself moved back in with her father in a more suited part of District Four for a growing girl.

Sydney's parents now own a net shop, and they sell nets for a living to fisherman. Miraculously, Sydney doesn't know how to swim. She used to know at a young age, but after a fishing accident when she was little, she hasn't touched the water and has since then forgotten how to swim.

Sydney doesn't have many friends, but the ones she does have she tries to keep close. She thinks boys are a waste, so all of her friends are girls. Well, friend, she has one friend if we're going to be honest. Her friend's name is Annie, and she is the one who saved her during the fishing accident.

Since she moved back in with her father, Sydney's life has been uneventful.
