The girl shoves me roughly into the wall and her friend laughs cruelly. They taunt me, daring me to fight back but I can't. I won't.
"Did you really think you could be pretty Marissa?"
I blush and look down at my toes, my hair covering my hot cheeks. The tears are threatening to spill over. I tried so hard to look pretty today, I even wore my mom's old itchy dress. All for nothing apparently though.
"We liked you more when you had your hair short and wore boys clothes. I hate having to see your fat legs!" She shoves me again, into the wall this time and I slide to the floor, curling up in the fetal position. I just want it to end.
"Please Morgan," I beg softly, "please stop!"
People in my school are used to this, Morgan dosen't like me. I don't even know what I did though. She just started calling me ugly and fat one day so I chopped all my hair off and started wearing boy's clothes.
Morgan kicks me in the ribs once and then her and her stupid friend scurry away. A teacher is hustling down the hall to me. She kneels down beside me an brushes the hair out of my face, "again Marissa?" her voice is low and sad, she just shakes her head slightly.
I blush and get to my feet, brushing the seat of my dress of, "Sorry Miss," I mumble, "I'll try harder to avoid her."
"Thank you Marissa," my teacher says, "I can't keep rushing out here to stop Morgan."
I nod and grab my books, hurrying down the halls. I hate her, she knows Morgan is bullying me... why won't she just help me? Instead I go home with bruises and emotional scars.
I make my way to the girl's bathroom, no point in going to class. It's almost lunch time anyways. When I get there I rest my hands on either side of the basin and glare into the dirty, cracked mirror. A red bump is forming on my forehead, I sigh and splash some water on my face. It's hard to be happy when I have no friends and Morgan bullies me day in and day out. I'm not even safe when I go home, then I just have to deal with my mom.
Suddenly I hear footsteps in the hallway, it must be lunch time already. Most kids would eat while watching the Games on the old projector. I don't have the money for a lunch though. Instead I make my way outside and sit under a tree in the courtyard. Morgan and her friend won't find me out here, very few people come out here. As I think that I hear footsteps and I quickly jump to my feet, fearing its Morgan and I'll have to run.

Outfit: A Dress | Song: Stand In The Rain | Word Count: 467
So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain
