Val had never been one to get too involved with other people's business. Honestly she had always had very little interest in the various goings on in the District Two - outside of training of course. At first it had been her own, but after missing out on the Games, her help had been enlisted in training prospective tributes and even actual tributes in the Capitol. It was something she prided herself in, but outside of that she cared little for what some of her neighbors might be up to.
Unfortunately what one of her neighbors was up to was made painfully obvious. One Jeremy Nalaar had actually tried to get her to spy on the Capitol! In her mind no good could come of it and she had obviously declined, making her position on the matter quite clear. She had nothing to fear from the Capitol so long as she continued to do as they said. And honestly what they wanted from her was pretty much exactly what she wanted.
Still, it wasn't exactly something she could just put out of her mind and be done with. His ideas were exceptionally treasonous and punishable by death if the right people heard them... And her? Well a case could be made for the idea that she was guilty by association - despite the fact that she had made sure to stay as far from him as possible. And it was with that thought that someone knocked on her door.
Val had only just gotten home from her less than pleasurable encounter with Nalaar when someone else was disturbing her. Moving through her modest house, Alex made her way to the front door. While it was quite similar in appearance to many of the other assigned dwellings in District Two, hers had a distinctly well kept feel to it. The furnishings worn but in good condition, and generally clean like most of the rest of her home.
Opening the door, Val was slightly surprised to see the stark white uniform of a peacekeeper before her. It wasn't the first time she'd ever dealt with them though it was the first time she'd ever encountered them after such a questionable rendezvous. "What can I do for you sir?" The gorgeous trainer asked, the respect clearly evident in her voice. While she was quite useful the Capitol she knew her status didn't place her above the law - perhaps a bit of extra leeway, but if she was found guilty of a serious enough crime there wasn't a whole lot she could do...
