Appearance:
Codeword: ODAIRFor someone who lives in District 9 she is surprisingly well off. She isn't 'fat' no, there is no way she can be fat, she can occasionally afford foods like candy and such but that is very rare. She actually cares quite a lot about her appearance considering she lives in such a poor place people rarely care about appearances but she wants to look like she owns everything. She isn't fat or chubby or overly skinny either. She's normal size although she isn't really that strong but compared to some of the skinnier kids in District 9 she's like a normal personPersonality:
First she looks more like she comes from District 11. She is of African descent but also American descent. So she's mixed race. Her skin is very light but also brownish. Her hair is curled and frizzy, it's very soft, it's black and silky. That's her natural hair style, it's not styled or anything -she can't really afford many hair products- so she doesn't need to do much to it. She doesn't like her appearance much however. She is always trying to work on it in bizarre ways, her nose, her skin, this may range from bathing five times a day to smearing mud on herself to hide the 'problem' then proceed to wash the mud of later.
Another thing noticeable about her is her really bad knee. When she was younger she fell, she was around six and then she just toppled from from the roof and landed on her knee. Her left knee to be more specific. She can't put much weight on that knee, she's really insecure about it. She can't run that well because of it she sort of limps when she tries to run, half way between a limp and a run. It really hurts and her leg is not stable because of it. She could easily just collapse any time when doing much exercise because of her knee. She's very conscious about it, just like the rest of her appearance (explained later).
She has a pretty wide jawline. She hates her jawline, she's insecure about it. She clenches her jaw a lot when she isn't speaking which is pretty notice able.History:
She's pretty shy and conscious about her appearance. This is a result of her BDD (Body dysmorphic disorder). This basically means she 'imagines' she has a lot of appearance flaws. So in this case she imagines she has problems with her skin, jaw and weight. She thinks she's too chubby so at times she just stops eating or she thinks she's too skinny at times so she just goes on an eating spree at times, however because she lives in a lower district there's never enough food to stop her from being 'too skinny'.
She doesn't hate herself she just really dislikes the way she looks because of her imaginary flaws. She does have a few quirks. She loves it when people compliment her about something. it can be anything. Ranging from her hair, her skin, anything. It makes her feel better about herself. However her disorder makes it hard for her to make friends however she can make friends.
She's kind but insecure. She's also nervous. She fiddles with her hair when she's nervous. She doesn't have much confidence in herself and stuttering is noticeable and frequent. She also acts very weird around boys. Very nervous and such. If you get to be her friend she is genuinely a pretty happy. But still nervous and shy during some very simple tasks.Ann's history is very simple, she had a pretty decent life. She was born to two parents who loved her very much. She wasn't 'poor' but she wasn't 'rich' either. Her father had to earn most of the money. He did alright, they got the money. She occasionally got some things that she wanted. They could afford basic things, it was fun, a pretty decent life with a mom and dad who loved her to the best of their ability. And she loved them back.
When she was six she was playing with her friend on the roof, and then she fell from the roof. As a result she badly broke her knee, now it's torn up forever. She has to either walk slowly or do a soft of limp. If she tries to run it's also a sort of limp as well. As a result some people made fun of her having to walk funny because she had to walk differently than everyone else. She was slower than everyone else, weaker than everyone else and she was sick of it.
As a result she became very conscious about her appearance. Developing BDD. She kept on thinking she was so flawed there were flaws that didn't exist. She thought there were black spots on her skin when there really wasn't, as a result she tried to cover herself up. She tried to cover herself up the best she could, even wearing a big scarf to cover her face on really hot days, she was scared people would make fun of these imaginary spots. She would always spend hours in her room whenever she was getting ready to go somewhere, since she didn't have make-up she had to cover her skin up with clothes. She thought that there was something wrong with her skin when there really wasn't.
Now she thinks there's something wrong with her, she thinks she's too ugly or too skinny or too fat and she constantly tries to fix these flaws, as if she wants to achieve perfection -which will never happen- she just goes through life constantly worrying about stuff and being nervous about simple things.
