Phenom made his way to the square where the victor Opal Shore would arrive. The games were over already, but then Phenom didn't pay much attention to the games due to training. All he knew was Opal won and today she would be here in the district. I'm not worthy enough to meet the victor of the games who just happens to be from district one. No one he knew was around in the square, but he was focused on greeting the victor and only her. The wounds that Opal suffered was quite curious to him. He himself suffered a severed leg and based off what he knew from the games, Opal also suffered the loss of a leg. I lost my leg in a damn spar. Opal suffered her loss in the games. I'm not worthy at all to meet her. No one could read his thoughts and for that Phenom was happy.
Early. That word came to mind when Phenom looked up and realized the train hadn't arrived yet. How embarrassing. I'm early and I haven't even met Opal yet she has me breaking down in nervousness. In a feeble attempt to get rid of his nerves Phenom shook his head. Opal coming back to the district would be huge. The recaps of the games interested him so much that being here to welcome her home was the least he could do to help. I've never cared about anyone before and yet this girl who I haven't even met in person practically has me here. Based on the recaps that Phenom saw, he knew Opal to be a very worthy victor. He chuckled slightly at the fact that he was here early to welcome someone who by all accounts was a complete stranger to him. Even worse that Phenom barely remembered the games until the recaps.
Phenom dropped to one knee. The anxiety of meeting Opal was getting to him. The fact that Opal wasn't even here yet made it even worse. What will actually happen when Opal does come home? What will I say or do to show that I'm proud she won. Phenom balled up one of his fists not in anger, but in a feeble attempt to help his anxiety. Loud cheering erupted around him as Phenom realized that Opal must be here. That was quick. I must of been on the ground longer then I expected. Phenom stood to his full height looking for the woman known as Opal Shore. He couldn't quite see her just yet, but she must be here. He weaved his way through to the front of the crowd intending to be one of the first ones to greet her back outside of her family. That's when he spotted her. Opal wasn't hard to miss after being crowned victor. He clapped and greeted along with the rest of the citizens of District one. He half hoped that Opal would miss him in the crowd. After all he was a stranger to her, and he fully expected Opal to look for her friends first.
