Gala & Gwen Thomas
Age Thirteen
District Two
Identical Trapeze Twins
If only there was a way to fly through the Hunger Games. A life-risking beam being dropped in the middle as if part of the goodies, the feast. The impossible chance of both Gala and Gwen getting reaped, but they were twins and not of the opposite gender. They could both easily escaped if all those unrealistic dreams occurring, bringing along the best entertainment the Hunger Games have ever witnessed. The identical young girls flying through the air, Gwen's knowledge navigating them, keeping the plan, while Gala easily supports the both with her an extremely tiny structure and hands. They could both survive without killing a single child, which will be all the tributes this year on account of the twist. If it came down to it though Gala was nearly certain she could kill, she had never trained or considered the option until today though.
Still tears formed in Gwen's eyes as the two girls walked side-by-side to visit a training gym for the very first time in their short thirteen years. More then half of the names for future victors have been cut from the bowl this year, rising their chances of being reaped by quite a bit. Of course the first thing Gala determined what they needed to do was begin training, hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. It aced on Gwen's heart to even consider the fact her or twin could actually get reaped. They had been inseparable their entire lives, and now something was threatening to split them apart, and possibly forever.
"Do you think she'll be nice?" Gwen asked with her raspy sad voice. They weren't sure yet who they've been paired up with, just leaving it in the fate of whom ever. There was a preference check list to get the right pair but on account the twins had very separate opinions Gala had lied and told it was all random. She wanted a guy trainer, someone that wouldn't be afraid to teach her the dirty stuff like how to actually kill. Gwen desired a female, with just a prediction that she'd be more level headed and do lessons on survival. For inseparable they certainly still had their own views, own personalities.
"What if it's a guy?" Gala followed up with another question instead of answering her twin's. Their was a look of plead in the quiet twin, as if Gala could turn all of this off if Gwen presented a good enough puppy-face. Certainly both girls would love nothing more then to go back home, back to their circus, be dangerous in their own way by relying on one another as they flipped through the air. Being reaped and performing as Trapeze Twins were both very dangerous tasks, one little slip up on either can have horrible results. Still the girls preferred their dangers over the Hunger Games, any day. "I'm sure who ever it is will be very understanding." She attempted to pull out a smile for Gwen, but it was crooked and certainly unbelievable. Either way the two girls gripped hands as they entered the Gym they were assigned to. Now to find out who their trainer will be.
"Hello?" Gala called out, still resisting to drop her sister's hand. The gym laid quiet and peaceful, so unlike what it usually must be like. Were they early? Or was this the first lesson? The twins walked through the large quarter, the size of a football field, with plenty of room to throw sharp objects, and wrestle someone without risking getting in the way of someone else's training. Both were hypnotized as their brains soaked everything in. Finally they let go of one another's hands, Gala drawn over to all the unfamiliar weapons. She knew what the basic knife was, the bow and arrow was something known though she never used one, and everything else just seemed foreign...yet still so desiring.
Watching her twin examine and be amazing by all the weapons was nice but shortly uninteresting. It was nice to see Gala so intuned, but also a bit disappointing on account Gwen found a strong dislike for violence. At least the gym was filled with other necessities, like survival tactics, and a rope. Of course the rope called over to Gwen, flying, hanging, and climbing was her best talents, well aside from her knowledge. She looked over at her twin, almost like for approval, but Gala was still distracted by all the weapons. Looking completely around Gwen decided to use up her free time to enhance her rope climbing ability.
As both girls were preoccupied with their talent of choice the gym door was opened and pulled them both back to where they actually were. Gala drew back her hand from examining a weapon as if caught in the cookie jar, and Gwen ascended down the rope. They were both extremely curious and kept their eyes upon the entrance to see who it was going to be.
