Shade Spectrus (District 3)

Shade Spectrus is a tall, pale and skinny looking person. He has thick black eyebrows an inch or two above his heterochromia colored blue and green eyes, the blue eye almost looking purple in certain types of light. His hair is long, black and outlined with a red/orange color. His face is skinny and rounded, but looks very defined as a mature and strong teenager. A fan of the colors red and black much like his hair, he sports a t-shirt with a red stencil style star on it at all times.

A casual metalhead of sorts, when Shade walks it's with a carefree but alert stance. A hand is always in his pocket as if he was about to pull out something to scare or threaten you, and when he looks at someone it is always with a "what is it" type of glare. His body type is that of an average skinny boy, with a bit of meat on those arms and a hard chest.

His hair reaches down to halfway past his back and is never tied, with red outlines in them like someone tried to color it in but gave up as soon as they got the outer rim, the colors melting into the darkness of his hair. He has two curved bangs on his face, one covering the top of his left eye a bit and the other being a bit smaller and being in the center of Shade's forehead.

He looks very gothic, like he was ripped out of a live action Tim Burton film. Dark shadows under his eyes from lack of sleep (much like Mist), an emo hairstyle, and fond of black and red, you would call him the outcast at a school

Shade is very quiet and serious, almost never cracking a joke himself but chuckling at the good ones. If you say something he doesn't approve of, he'll get cold with you and let you know without any regrets. Almost intimidating, Shade is actually someone with a good heart, being the one who will take you under his wing if there is trouble, and believes that his friends come first before him. He's the one you would want to see if someone picked on you, he wouldn't respond with violence, but he would respond with motivation. "Man up and tell him what he has coming if he persists" would be his words to you.

Shade is very mature, unable to even crack a smile at a dumb joke someone might make if it offends him or anybody else directly. You would ask him a question about life and he'd tell you the answer like a college student, with details so precise you could write about three chapters of a book if you payed attention. You would almost call the boy boring if it wasn't for his interesting gadgets he plants all over his house. Capable of creating a useful tool to open a door when he's busy focusing on something else, if you ask him for an alarm clock that pokes you awake, he'll make one. Given the right tools, of course. He also has very different feelings towards his siblings.

His main grudge is with his younger broher, Frade. A rude child that he has to deal with a lot, they argue a lot over the stupidest details. Because of this, he can't stand people who are loud and will get as far as he can from them, making him a hypocrite since he enjoys listening to metal music. He is aware of his errors and motivates only himself due to a lack of parental presence in the Spectrus household, being the dad of the family when they aren't there.

You could call him boring, you could call him cool, you could call him an emo loser, or you could call him fatherly. Regardless, he is a cold, mature, and quiet boy with a lot of things going on in his mind.

Living in District 3 under a normal childhood, Shade was welcomed into this world with a curious baby shower. They dyed his hair with red outlines to represent the blood his mother shed to bring him into this world, and he was named Shade because the night his mother was impregnated with him, it was under the shade of a gloomy tree. Unlike his older sister, Sorcera, Shade was very tame, mature, and followed the household rules. When he became 5, he was fascinated by a simple machine at a store his parents took him to, the sliding door. He began to ask questions; "How does this work, who made that?" as he saw the machines work. He got simple explanations that became more and more complex as he grew up, gifting him with a professional and sophisticated lexicon.

His younger brother, Frade, was a troublemaker that would stop at no end to make his life impossible. He'd always break something so he could frame Shade for it, resulting in heated and nasty arguments between the two. But, it was all Shade's fault he was like this after letting Frade socialize with the bullies around their home. He felt guilty and as much as he tried to stop Frade from being the uncontrollable brat he became, it resulted in nasty arguments between the two. At one point, Shade got so upset he dragged Frade's face across the rocky wall, giving Frade a nasty scar across his eye. Never did Shade lose it like that again.

Once he reached the evolving age of 11, Shade began to create contraptions that fascinated him. If it was an upgraded version of something, he liked it. This gave him a slight interest in crossbows and daggers he saw in the games, more advanced versions of their predecessors the knife and bow. Once he became 12, you couldn't step into his room without activating something he created. He adored his inventions and made sure that they were touched by other people with only his permission. If someone touched something without him knowing, he'd know anyway.

After some motivation, he began to sell some of his contraptions to make room for other things in his web of a room. Small profits came from this, but it was enough to keep him going in life and to keep the family fed. However, he ended up focusing more on caring for his 5 other siblings instead of himself and he was on the edge of needing tesserae for himself in many occasions.

Shade has a curious life for someone from District 3, being a philosopher of sorts that is into the most violent sounds, caring for who his parents should be looking after, and many other things. A responsible man inside an irresponsible world, Shade can only hope that the odds can be in his favor.

Not much except that his token is a red thunderbolt necklace. I will make applications for the other 5 siblings later.

Shade is neutral towards the careers, but will not hesitate to conspire against them if needed in the games, making him a bit of an anti-career, but not entirely.
