Hi there, Percy! My name's Nicole but around here I go by Onyx. First of all, welcome to the site! I know that at first the forum might seem a little daunting but you soon get the hang of it ^^

If you're feeling a little lost at first, there are several ways that you can get help. My personal recommendation is to just have a look around and get orientated! The boards are arranged with general boards, the Rules, Notice Board and Questions Board at the top, followed by the Hunger Games boards and then the roleplaying sections. Even if you only click around for a couple of minutes, it can really help.

The next is to hop into the cBox on the left of the site, introduce yourself and ask my questions you have. That way, anyone who can help you is able to, rather than just devoting all your questions to an unofficial 'buddy' as you've suggested.

The staff on this site are extraordinarily organise and capable - I don't know how they manage to keep their sanity with everything they have to do! Even so, they're still happy to answer your questions. They come up with white names on the cBox, and coloured ones everywhere else on the boards.

If you're still stumped, lost or just curious, you're always welcome to post in the Questions & Suggestions board. A staff member will get back to you on your question as soon as they can.

With all of this, I still do implore you to be patient! The staff have some difficult responsibilities - from helping writers to improve their posts to sorting through bios, to checking posts and even organising each Hunger Games' smooth running. And this isn't just about the staff, but also don't think that just because you can't grasp everything in your first day, week or even month it means you're doing something wrong. This forum is always buzzing with activity, with new posts appearing all the time and the cBox rushing, too. Just keep exploring, asking and finding your feet, and you'll be a pro in no time!

For now, you can just browse around and maybe make a character or two. The 65th Hunger Games are coming close so you're right on time to go read through those threads. Or in simpler language, view the 65th games.

There are plenty of guides, but you'll just have to post around to see the site for yourself. I'd recommend reading this guide for making a character and then making one yourself!

And a little cheat for you newbies: try and use blockquote and make your text size one in posts. It makes you look less newbie-like!
