Today was one of those days anyone could enjoy. Austin couldn't ask for a better day. The weather in District Four was amazing; the temperature just right, and not a single cloud in sight. There wasn't any school required to attend to which gave Austin the luxury of a stress-relived day. He wouldn't have to struggle what random scribbles on a piece of paper meant, he could just enjoy his day.
Today he didn't have any errands to run. No assignments to do. He had just decided to take a walk around the district, maybe meet someone he knew, maybe a total stranger. He was up for anything, as long as it wasn't at home. He had enough of his parents, enough of their hatred, enough of their scolding. People have limits and Austin is beyond his.
Having dyslexia all his life, he struggled to learn anything in school. He struggled to pass each and every of his classes every year, for 11 years. Getting buy grade school and junior high was painful enough, but when High School itself came, he couldn't take anymore of the stress. Behind doors he wasn't the perky, upbeat Austin. He was broken. It's not that he is a bad person, incapable of being nice naturally. He is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet; his first concern will just be you, never him.
For now, all his thoughts of stress and pain were thrown aside. Today truly was a day to feel alive. Where would he go first? Find some people he knew, go to the beach? Normally he would study, but that's a lost cause. A call from behind, maybe a few meters away caught his attention. Whipping his head backwards, he looked for the source of his name being called, but nobody was there. Was it just his head? Quite possibly.
That's when it hit him. Not it, her. A girl who appeared almost out of thing air, looking closely she appeared around his age. He had happened to turn at quite the wrong time. As they were both shoved aside, balance would not favor them. Tumbling to the ground, Austin sprung up worried of the condition of the one he bumped into. "Ack, I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to. It was my bad." Taking a few steps forward he outstretches his arm, offering help to the fallen girl. Maybe this would be his new friend? His adventure for the day?
