"Hey. I didn't notice you there I'm sorry. I've just been so wrapped up in my hunger. This really is the hunger games. I'm Jim from district three." I can't help but crack a smile at his joke. even though boys are really annoying me right now, I guess it's not so bad. "Nice to meet you, Jim. I'm Siana from district seven" I say, smiling. Just be cool, Sia. Maybe he could be helpful to you I tell myself. My eyes look him over, he's probably about my age, at least he's not twelve like Linus. I'm kind of tired of little boys who are barely even considered teenagers. It's not really fair that they have to go off and die for entertainment. "Would you like to join me?" the question surprises me, I don't know why I asked him to join me. What the hell are you doing Siana? I thought you said you were tired of boys I yell mentally at myself but the words have already left my mouth so I can't take them back. I really hope he decides not to join me.

"It would be an honor Miss Siana. I'm starving. One thing I can say for sure about the Capitol is that they know how to make some fantastic food." he says, sitting down at the table. I move over to give him some room. "I agree, this food is very good" I say. We sit in a slightly awkward silence for a few moments before I can't stand it. "So, Jim, what's it like in District three, I haven't heard much about it so I'm curious?" I ask, genuinely curious because I've never been able to actually learn much about the other district, I want to know what it's like.

"Well Siana in district three it's mainly full of pollution. Just about everything we make is made for the Capitol or destined for the Capitol. If I wasn't reaped, I myself probably would be working to help make things for this lovely place." I hear the venom in his voice as he says the last part of the phrase. I don't blame him. Almost all the wood products we make in district seven also goes to the Capitol. "What's it like over there in seven? I wouldn't mind knowing about seven." He asks. I can't help but smile at his question. "Well, if I'm perfectly honest, District seven is the most beautiful district in Panem but then again, I'm a little biased. It's very green and there are tree's everywhere and lot's of things to climb" I reply, unable to help the laugh that escapes my lips. "I'm a carver back at home but most of what I make ends up coming here, not that I see anything for it" my words are bitter at the end of the phrase. "Don't worry, I don't bite" Much We lapse into an uncomfortable silence and this time, I wait for him to break the silence.

"Don't bite? Well I hope if in the arena and both of us are starving, and we happen to meet that the statement holds true." He laughs. I smile and join him. It's not often, especially as of late, that I've been able to laugh. I think I like this kid, he's got a good sense of humor. I feel a stab of guilt about the fact that the way we'd met made it certain that we would probably have to kill each other, I don't like killing, it's not me, but sometimes, you've gotta do the hard things in life. That's what I've learned. "I'm not a cannibal, yuck, plus I don't think I'd get much off you, no offence" I tease. For some reason, I find it easy to joke around with this kid. He's someone that, had I known him before the games, I think I could have been friends with. Unfortunately, this is the hunger games, friendships can never work because only one of us comes out and, no offence to Jim, I plan on that person being me. I pick at the last remnants of my meal, dipping one of the French fries into ketchup and popping it into my mouth, it tastes good. I wonder if I'd be able to make this meal at home. You'd need access to fish which you don't have I remind myself before looking back at Jim. "what's your favorite animal?" the question is random I know but it will get the conversation going again.
