Hunter Family - District Nine

“There’s weapons everywhere baby boy.” His mother explained as they traveled through the thick forest they weren’t supposed to be in. “Most of them I don’t even know about.” Her brunette hair graced down her back before being scooped to hang over her shoulder, the same exact beautiful color as the rest of her children shared. Including the little boy Blake clinging to her hand with anticipation.

“Why don’t you know about them momma?” Blake asked with large curious eyes. His Mother knew everything in his eyes.

“Before the fence was put up we were all hunters.” She begins with the story, her word choice shifting for her child’s age. “Your great grandfather and a few others hid some weapons everywhere.” The walk was beautiful as always. In one tree truck, more then a mile from the fence, hid a sword that his mother pulled out. “We’re one of the lucky ones to be given this secret.”

Once again at the tiny age of seven he learned how to properly handle a sword, taught by none other then his mother. She explained thoroughly to Blake to never use his sword on a human…unless they were attacking him. Also that he was to never bring it inside the fence.

Being outside with his mother was the best of times for Blake (just as it was for the rest of her children). It was the only time that her attention was on him. Usually she was working her long hours to support her family, but that they all understood.





It seemed as if the silence would never end. They sat in a circle around their living room, all eight children. Only the birds chirping outside filled the stillness. “I know how to hunt.” Broke the chaotic darkness, from the eldest daughter Claire.

Just two hours ago their mother, the one they all loved so dearly, was taken by peacekeepers. They said she was going to the detention center, for illegally trespassing past the fence and holding illegal weapons. Each child froze in fear at that moment, without knowledge each sibling was also in that state. Their mother had been taken away, for them to soon realize it was for good. It toke two long hours for any of them to speak.

After the first admitted to hunting it was easy for the rest to follow, and soon they all learned they were each taught a different talent. Luckily the oldest son Blake was eighteen and could take responsibility over the household, though it would all come crashing if he were ever reaped. It would if any of the siblings were. They now all relied on one another to keep their family going.



Blake – Sword – Eighteen – Male (Open)
There’s nothing more important to Blake then protecting his younger siblings. It had always been that way with an over-worked mother and lack there of a father. The Hunter’s became his family, especially when their Mother was sent away, but even before hand. He’s always desires to fulfill the spot of ‘Man of the Household’, and maybe tries a bit too hard.

Claire - Bow & Arrow – Seventeen – Female (Florence)
If there were a competition for which child best resemblance their mom it would no doubt be Claire. Certainly she doesn’t compare to the many talents their Mother has, but she’s awfully close. The best trait she received was her strong yet sweet attribute. She can easily take down a kill with no remorse, but also cry over someone else’s pain. Now she does her best to fulfill her Mother’s shoes.

Kyle - First Aid – Sixteen – Male (Open)
Instead of being trained to hunt as Kyle’s siblings were, he was taught first aid to recover any injuries or sicknesses that occurred. Though that wasn’t what he was told. To him he was the only one special enough to have quality time with their mother while she gave him her gift of knowledge. That’s what they all thought. He became quite furious with their Mother when he found out the other’s were taught how to hunt, finding that a better talent. But still he’s very nurturing and can heal nearly anything.

Aaron - Trapping – Fifteen – Male (Open)
Certainly the smartest one of the batch, Aaron’s fingers are like magicians. Creating traps from game isn’t his only specialty either. Learning from his mother on how to make and fix traps, he also caught on to how it can be used in his daily life. He can fix nearly anything, and if he can’t he usually figures out a way. Despite his large intelligence he’s also the most social as well.

Zane – Fishing – Fourteen – Male (Open)
Out of all the children Zane’s surprisingly the most mature and levelheaded. Perfectly fine by himself, he’s very wise for his age and extremely patient. Whenever there’s problems occurring, or fighting going on he’s the one able to pull himself from the chaos and figure out the solution. If one of the other siblings needs to talk they always go searching for Zane, knowing he’d listen all the way through their rant and give the best advice.

Baylee – Fishing Spear – Thirteen – Female (Open)
A water bug to say the least, it’s no surprise their mother decided to give Baylee a spear to get into the water with. The twins were the only ones that knew their mother was teaching another person, because they all went out together. It’s very difficult to pull her away from the water, often found discovering a local lake or pond and it’s water life. Also inseparable from her twin who loves exploring just as much. The only way to tell the twins apart is Baylee’s sundresses.

Rylee – Land Spear – Thirteen – Female (Minieclover)
One of the strongest within the family despite her age, Rylee’s certainly the tomboy of the family. Identical to her twin sister, the only way to tell them apart is by Rylee’s boy attire. She absolutely loves hanging out with the boys when not exploring with her twin. With a slick and sarcastic tongues it’s no rarity to get a good laugh because of her. Despite her tough appeal she’s very fun to be around, as long as you’re on her good side.

Sienna - Throwing Knifes – Twelve – Female (Cameo)
Don’t be tricked by the innocent appeal, big things arrive within little packages. There’s nothing that Sienna desires more then to prove herself in any way, shape, or form. Just like Claire though, the little girl holds opposite personality traits. While causing fiery competition, she also has holds a soft and very caring side. This has caused her to seem quite odd, but she’s very outgoing despite a lack of friends.
