Gabriel Winston D10 {done!}

Before we begin, how about I introduce myself. I'm Gadget, the crazy inventor of District 10. The lunatic next door. I think I got it from my dad, he was always the odd one. I also got my scruffy blonde hair from him. I like to let it grow real long, to cover my face. It looks odd in the summer though when my skin gets tan. My nose is normal sized, but somehow it looks big with my narrow face. In comparison to nose, my eyes look too small. So overall my face is just plain messed up.

I stopped caring about my looks back when I was a kid. No matter how hard I tried, I would never be considered "cool" Now is no different. I wear loose shirts since I don't have a body to show off. Most of my close are tattered and stained, but I like them that way. My whole body is almost always covered in something. It could be anything from sawdust to soot, and even mud. It matters the project I'm working on.

My voice, the one thing I'm proud of. Not for singing though because I'm practically tone deaf. You'd expect a guy like me to have a crackly, crazy tone. My voice is much smoother. I'm pretty sure my looks can't get me anywhere, but I'm almost curtain my voice can. It flows effortlessly and helps me get whatever I need.

I'm not crazy, really I swear. I use the term as a joke because everyone else says it about me. I hear mothers telling their children. "Look kids! That's a crazy man!" I'm dead serious, they actually said that. Well they are all wrong. I'm not crazy, I'm just creative. It's an easy mistake I guess. Through my many failures I have had a few successes. Okay, 2 successes. That therefore makes me not crazy, right?


I'm overall not the most social person. I mean I try to get friends, but they all think I'm crazy! Who needs people anyways. I have a dog who thinks I'm sane. My lack of friends tends to leave Freddy (the dog) and I in my workshop, all alone, with no distractions. Just the way I like it.

The games, ah the games. It was scary when I was younger, when I actually had a chance of being in them. Now they're okay I guess. Now that I can't be killed in the arena, I see why the capitol people finds so entertaining about it. When I watch them, I try to look sad when someone dies. The fact that I don't despise the hunger games is just another reason to be called crazy, so I keep it to myself.

Ah, the day I was born. I remember it like it was yesterday. Not really, but here's what I do know. My dad was probably drunk. He always was. Maybe he still is wherever he went. I also know it was sometime in the fall. It's understandable to forget your kids birthday if you have a bunch of them. I WAS AN ONLY CHILD! By the time I turned seven, my parents got tired of me. They banished me to the shed and slid food under the door once a day. When I did get to see them, they treated me like garbage. SO I considered myself lucky to have little contact with them.

This is how my nickname started. The shed became my workshop and I would build build build every second I got. None of my creations exactly worked, but I was getting there.I didn't even notice when my parents went missing. I finally figured it out when I hadn't eaten in a week. I didn't wonder where they were. I just searched the house for any cash, then sold it to pay for more gadgets. The new owners didn't seem to mind me living in their shed.


You know when I said I had 2 successes. That was a lie. Nothing I've made does what it's supposed to. Soon, the owners of the house left. Apparently there was too much noise. I wonder where that came from? They sold the house to this couple who were not as nice. They kicked me and my inventions out on the curb! I haven't been able to find a place since.

Forgot how much I LOVE making first person bios!!!
