Age: 14
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Personality:With hair as black as ebony, lips as red as blood, and skin white as snow we shall call her name Snow White.
Snow's hair is as blacks as ebony and comes to just about her the center of her neck. There is a slight curl to her hair but only at the bottom, turning the ends of her hair in toward her neck. This also causes a look of fullness to the bottom of her hair and a slight bounce when she walks. Snow's eyes are round and dark brown, with not very think lashes to them. She stands just about five foot four, and is very slender looking. She has a slight curve to her body, but for the most part she isn't fully endowed like what other girls might be at her age. Her body is somewhat tone though due to years of hard work and not too much food. There are scares of a hard life that are riddled on her body, but they are small and common; most of these are burns on her hands that come from baking. No soft dainty hands on her, and it's not uncommon to see a bit of a sunburn on her skin during the summer for her skin is very pale. It would be due to her pale skin that she was given the nick name of snow; for her mother mused that her skin was white as snow; though in reality it's pale ivory.
Snow's body is thin, as stated before, having her come to the wait about 110lbs. Due to work she has some upper body strength and a little leg strength, not enough to really giver her to much of an advantage over others if it comes to fighting. She's great at climbing up threes and on small limbs in order to get the apples that are the highest up; that others didn't dare to get.
Snow doesn't see herself as pretty, though others find her beautiful; though this is due not only to her looks but her sweet nature. Snow is normally seen in the same dress every day; she only owns two dresses and a nightgown. Her one dress she always wears is brown, frayed and patched at the bottom, with white sleeves. Her other dress is used for reaping or other special events that calls for her to dress up, yellow skirt with a blue bodice. This is a really old dress as it belong once to her father's mother; it's not perfect because of the years of wear and it's a little too big for her now but she'll grow into it. Her hair is pull back with a blue ribbon most of the time that she was given by her father; his last real gift to her besides the red ribbon the she wears during other times.
Snow is the type of person that if you were cold and asked for her shirt to get warm she would give it to you. Gentle is the type of person that she is and it shows in all her mannerism; in the way she speaks and acts. All in all the terms a throw rug might be the best way to describe what Snow is, or that's what most who don't know her would think. Though Snow is gentle and kind she does have a sort of fire, way down deep inside of her, though she had never really stood up for herself but it somehow gives her the strength to endure whatever it is she has to endure.History:
Snow tends to try and find the good in things as well, always trying to put a good face forward and smile; sometimes sing. This doesn't mean she doesn't get sad, this happens mostly when she believes others are not looking and she has a moment to think. She misses her father deeply, and if she had known her mother she would have missed her too. Snow also hopes and longs for a different life one day, though there really isn't a great hope of that happening.
Due to her want to love and be loved by others this could get Snow into trouble if she's not careful; because she's just too trusting. If she ever found herself reaped this would be the biggest fault to her, because she would be willing to trust though who would offer it to her, as well she would just couldn't really hurt a person; or that's what she believe but a person could change under pressure.
Snow's parents were wealthy, well as wealthy as you could be in district eleven. Together they worked and owned a bakery shop. It had once belonged to Snow's Father's Parents, who left it to him and his new bride on their wedding day; they were getting to old to get up early anymore anyway though Snow's parents took care of them until the day they died. Snow's mother was a girl from a poor side of town, her parents work in the orchard; gathering the apples. They had met at school and it was love at first sight and turned into a happy ending. The two of them worked hard to build up the bakery and to help who they could around them; only wishing they could do more.Codeword: odair
The only pain in their life, besides everything dark and sad around them, was the fact they had no children. They really wanted a child; even though they would have to deal with the fear and the possible pain of losing their child to the reaping. After years of trying their wish was granted one cold winter's day. Feeling so happy Snow's mother held her daughter close as she glanced out the window at the falling snow and couldn't help but give her daughter the name of Snow; this was due to their last name being white and the fact that their daughter's skin was even now so light. Together they decided that Snow would be the little girl's middle name, for they named her Mary after her grandmother. In truth Snow's father wasn't so keen on calling their daughter Snow; but this changed after his wife died.
Snow's mother became really ill after giving birth to their daughter, so ill in fact that two days later with her daughter in her arms and her husband's hand in hers she said her final goodbye. Telling her husband that she was sorry to leave him like this and to find another wife to help take care and raise their little Snow. With a final kiss on the downy soft black hair of her little Snow, Snow's mother slipped away into death. Snow's father took his little daughter in his arms and held her close to his heart, vowing that though he would remarry; for he could not raise a girl on his own; he would never love another woman like his wife. It was then that Snow opened her eyes and looked up at her father, her little hand grabbed onto his finger as if she was telling him it was going to be ok. From that moment on he called her his little Snow and his daughter took over his heart.
It would be two years later and Snow's father would meet another woman, Victoria. She was the daughter of the of a wealthy store owner, and it was due to the him that the two became married. Victoria's father believed it would be a good match and knew that his daughter would be taken care of; and she didn't mind being in a marriage were her husband didn't love her right away; so they were married. Being the daughter of a wealthy store owner Victoria never really had to do much work; she was more interested in finding ways to make herself look beautiful; so most of the work for the bakery fell to Snow's father and soon little Snow herself.
Tragedy hit once again however, when Snow was eight years old. Snow father left their home early in the morning and was found dead later that afternoon; no one knows what truly happen to him. Victoria showed some emotion at his passing, but soon realized she was now stuck with a child to care for, and no one to do the work. It didn't take Victoria long to realize however that the little girl could be some use to her; after all Snow did know how to run the bakery because her father had taught her everything he knew. It didn't take Victoria long to sort of enslave the young girl; convicting Snow that it was her job to take care of the bakery. It started small just by simply telling Snow that she had no one and that she had no choice and lead to the point where Snow became depended on everything from Victoria. Snow owns nothing but works hard to keep what she can; food and a place to sleep. Victoria had threaten her several times that if Snow doesn't do everything she is told than Victoria would send her away; this is enough of a threat to make anyone do what you want them to.
Now that Snow is old she still does whatever her Step mother wishes of her, though it seems like things might get worse. For even though Victoria has done everything she can to keep Snow down, the young girl has grown into a beauty that is passing that of Victoria's; making her stepmother jealous. The only thing her step mother will not allow is for Snow to take Tessera; for if Snow was to be reaped than Victoria would lose her step daughter slave. During the time when school is out for the harvest, Victoria sends Snow to the orchard in order to earn extra money for her step mother. It was here that Snow learned how to climb trees, and being light enough she learned how to get further into the trees than other; giving her the chance to get the fruits that others couldn't. Though Snow loves the bakery she enjoys the time away so that she could be herself and be around people that are generally kind to her.
Even though Snow's stepmother does everything she can to keep Snow down trodden, Snow has grown into a young woman who still tries to find the good in others, to find the bright side of thing though there isn't always one. This trait could be due to the wonderful people she had learned to care about while working in the orchards. When she is allow in her room at night, Snow dreams of a better life and wishes her father was still alive. She tries to find a way to love her step mother, but Victoria does not make it easy. Still it's out of the memory of her father; not to mention that she had no place to go; that Snow stays and tends to the family bakery.
