Cameo Sky
Age Eighteen
District Four
Everything about the beach was unpleasant for Cameo; the sand that constantly stuck to every inch of skin. The salt water that burned an open wound, eyes, and throat, along with it's brutal waves that could take out anyone. Everyone dancing around having fun with their families, as if no worries over the hunger games. The list clearly indicates the stupidity of the entire thing. Yet Cameo still tortured herself by trekking through it, dressed in full clothing and boots. Despite all of the screaming parents and children, it was much quieter then the orphanage she resided in.
The only good quality the beach may have it that nightly sunset, Cameo always loved the way the sky lit up just as the sun met the horizon. For a good half hour the best creation is shared, painting a mural for anyone to witness. That was the only reason Cameo ever went to the beach, hating every other part for the exception of sunset. Still it required a lot of effort to enjoy it because of the long distance she always had to travel in order to get peace.
If too close to the town, the most populated part of the beach at all hours, Cameo constantly ran into enemies from school. She had to trail on for a good ways in order to get away from the all. Dyke, tranny, looser, and so many more constantly escaped the immature mouths of the kids the exact same age as her. When Cameo was younger they were hurtful comments, but now she simply ignored them. "Who comes to the beach alone? Stupid Dyke." Like now for instances, with three girls mocking her as they attempt to get as much sun as possible before it went down.
The middle finger was Cameo's famous gesture, along with a few curse words, which was exactly her response for that crisis. That and to keep moving, because she'd only be feeding into their craving of teasing someone by sticking around. Luckily it was girls to because the boys were constantly ready to start a physical fight. Even when it's three against one Cameo could never resist, resulting in constant wounds and damages.
Another good mile and the beach is nearly deserted, exactly what Cameo was desiring. She toke a seat on one of the benches just as the beautiful lights began filling the sky. Of course a cigarette is pulled out and lit, and the relaxation begins. At least in this area only fishermen occupy the water in attempt to catch the variety of sea life. Some in the water, while others are on boats, and none of them caring about a girl that has the attire of a boy.
