Justin Matthews - District 2 - FINISHED

Justin is a pretty tall guy, at five foot seven, and is still growing about an inch a year (He'll grow to about six foot two @ 24). Built like a runner, the young man is lithe, but not scrawny. He's about a hundred and fifty pounds of mostly muscle, playing sports at school and training (secretly) with his school year's other males for the games (they call that, too, "sports"). With the classical blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, he thinks himself fairly good looking. Though slightly pale, he still spends enough time in the sun when he's not under the trees. He prefers darker clothes.

His eye color is that of a stormy day. They're dark blue with flecks of grey and black, if you look close enough to them. He's got a bit of scruff growing on his face, usually, but never enough for a full beard. As an only child of his parents, he enjoys a little bit of the better hand-me-downs from his father, never having to choose from the hand-me-downs of hand-me-downs that a lot of kids have to. He often wears a ring on his left hand ring finger, a gift from his grandmother before she had died.

Justin is a seventeen year old guy living in the upper class part of District Two with his mother and father. Because he's the only child that they have, his parents expect him to take over his father's jeweler's business; taking in the special minerals that come from the mine, all the gold and silver, all the gemstones that they find, and creating necklaces and bracelets, earrings and piercings. All of which ship to the Capitol. He's rather athletic, participating in the track team and a part of the 'wrestling' team. Not overly competitive, but still loving the sports.

Justin is a very quiet kind of guy when he's alone. He won't go out of his way to talk to people or make himself the leader of projects. However, when he ends up in a conversation, he can hold his own. The young man is a very loyal person that, once he decides that he likes you enough to make some alliance with you, he'll stick to that promise. He knows that alliances are a good thing, and being clever will generally make people see him as useful and make them go out of their way to interact with him. He's a very persuasive person, learning from his salesman of a father (there's not a lot of local business with the people of District Two, but when there is, his father gets nothing but net).

Justin is the only child of his two parents. He's the son of the local Jewler, his father, and a baker, his mother. His father owns his own shop, and the three of them actually live above it, on the second floor of the "house". It's not the best place, but it's surely not as bad as a lot of the places that some people end up living. And it's definitely not out on the streets.

Growing up, Justin has been taught and apprenticed in the ways of his father. He's learned to use the tools of the trade of a jewler. He can, at his age of seventeen, create jewlry almost as well as his father can, and his father's been at it for many more years. He doesn't mind doing the work, either, and would actually very much like taking over his father's business, once the man is too old to take care of it himself.

As a child, Justin was very into sports and the little things that the schools offered to 'help' growing children learn and prepare for the Hunger Games. Now, all of it was labeled down as sports such as wrestling or baseball. Justin always prefered the ones like baseball, where he got to run a lot. Now, in high school, Justin runs track and field, and enjoys watching the wrestling teams go at it (the female wrestling team, he quite enjoys). Hoping to find a girl eventually, he goes about life as normal, keeping opinions about the Games quite to himself.
