Jacques Lazier
Not one single day in his life had gone by without Jacques being involved in a family full of rowdy boys. Five to be total. Jacques was the youngest. Mr. and Mrs. Lazier had done an excellent job of spacing things out too, the boys were two years apart, almost to the day.
Yesterday had been a bittersweet day in the household, the greatest of parties. Jameson had turned nineteen years old. He was officially ineligable for any future hunger games. It was also his going away party. In the Lazier household, you stayed home until nineteen. You grew up, and you began your own life, as an adult. Jameson had packed up the rest of his stuff this morning, and he was gone. There had been five, now there was only one.
Though he was often socially awkward in social situations, he felt right at home amongst his brethren, and felt equally as awkward when they were around. He was just now coming to the realization that they were gone, for good. Sure they'd be home for the holidays and such, but that was different. There was no more daily beatings and roughhousing to be had. From this point forward, he was pretty much an only child.
He needed some air, it was claustrobic in that big empty house, and now he was walking about the rim of the square. The place was somewhat deserted today as well, but at least it was wide open spaces. Most of the patrons were packed into the square proper watching the 65th games. The air was chilly, but that didn't deter him, or his preferred choice in attire. He was wearing a simple white tee shirt, no jacket, and a pair of those holey jeans that looked like they'd been through twenty years of "experience."
He was far enough away from the square that he couldn't see the masses, but with the hill that he was on, he was able to see the big screen broadcasts in the valley below. As he came up on a nice, solid oak tree he came to a stop. He squared up next to the tree and perched his back against it. His two inch long, black hair was combed back with his right fingers, and his gaze loosely shifted towards the screens in the distance below.
