Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Eva has an athletic, trim frame. She stands about five nine, she has light brown skin. She also has a scar on her right shoulder that runs from the top of her shoulder to about halfway down her shoulder blade. This came from her first time in the orchards when she had fallen and cut herself on a broken ladder that was at the base of the tree she was working in. Eva weighs in at about 119 pounds, has a semi muscular build due to her time working in the orchards. Her face is a diamond shape with a narrow chin.Personality:
Eva's hair is midnight black, straight, and reaches to the middle of her back. More often than not, her hair is tied up into a bun with her bangs framing her face. Her eyes are round almond shaped and a deep shape of golden hazel. They are slightly lifted at the corners and her lashes are naturally thick. Her lips are a natural dark shade of pink and thin. On her right eyebrow, there is a thin scar that reaches a few centimeters up her forehead from a tree branch that caught her when she was helping with the harvest.
Eva is a very down to earth girl. She grew up with her mother who was always ill and a father that was never around, so she was forced to grow up before her time. Eva works hard to feed her mother, often risking her own health to get the job done. Though she hates the strictness of her district, Eva does her best to keep her head down no matter how much she wants to lash out at the peacekeepers. Alot of what she does, she does for the sake of her mother.History:
When she isn't working, Eva is a very caring loving girl. When her father left, Eva stepped up and became the one to bring home the food and money for her family. After seeing the 64th Hunger games, the reality hit her that she could have just as easily been one of her districts tributes that fell to the victor. Though she knew she wasn't allowed to train like the people in the higher districts, Eva forced herself into a stricter mindset. She began a ritual of taking a few hours of her work day to push herself harder and faster to prepare herself if she did get chosen.
Despite her calm and collected outward appearance, inside, she fights an ever lasting battle. Eva wants so badly to take her mother and leave District 11, but she knows that they couldn't leave if they wanted to. Even though she tries to save some of her pay from the orchards, Eva spends most of it on her mothers medicine. On top of that, she knows the peacekeepers wouldn't let her leave without something of value to offer. She is known for being sharp tongued at times if someone truly angers her. When it comes to anyone insulting her mother, Eva tends to fly off the handle.
Eva was born to her mother, Marianne Killian, and her father, Drake Killian, about a year after they married. Though the pregnancy went smooth, after the delivery, Marianne became a bit ill. Her father thought nothing of it and took care of his family until his wife got better. After a few years though, things took a turn for the worse. Marianne's condition only deteriorated until it was deemed she could no longer work the harvests. This made it hard on Drake since he had to work twice as hard to support his daughter and wife. Eva didn't know any better, but one night, after her tenth birthday and a hard day in the fields working with her father, a fight between her parents broke out. Marianne had yelled something about how Drake couldn't just leave Eva and her on their own. Drake retorted with something along the lines of how they were just burdens and were going to keep him from living his life. It wasn't uncommon for them to fight, but Eva knew this one would be worse than the ones before.Codeword: ODAIR
The next morning, Eva woke to find her mother lying in bed, crying and her father gone. When she asked about it, Marianne simply shook her head and went back to crying. It was then that Eva knew she would have to be the caretaker in the family. Working in the orchards became her entire life for a few years. One day, while climbing and picking, Eva hadn't noticed a loose branch above her and grabbed it. As soon as she did, it snapped and hit her in the face, leaving a cut on her forehead that later scarred and left a pale line on her forehead, splitting her eyebrow in the middle. After a while, Marianne's health continued to deteriorate, concerning the girl. Doctors only told her that her mothers condition was incurable and that the most they could do was giver her medicine to prolong the inevitable. Eva didn't want to hear it though, she broke down and screamed at the doctors to make her well again. After finally coming to terms with her mothers condition, Eva put even more effort into her work, in hopes that she could one day afford to take her mother to The Capital and get her cured. On one day in particular, Eva had been so concerned for her mother that she failed to feel her foot loosing traction, resulting in her plummeting to the ground ten feet below. Though she didn't break any bones, her shoulder hit a broken ladder that had been lying on the ground, leaving a deep cut that put her out of the orchards for a couple weeks. Unfortunately, on the supplemental pay she received, Eva couldn't afford her mothers meds.
Her focus at that point consisted of only work and her mother after she recovered, until she saw the 64th hunger games. Seeing how bloodthirsty the tributes got and the District 11 tributes fall, Eva felt a true fear in her mind. Knowing that she could be picked at the reaping made the dark haired girl paranoid. Whenever she was working in the trees, Eva made sure to push herself hard and faster in hopes that it would help if she ever did get chosen. Unfortunately, because of the District 11 peacekeepers, she never could properly train in the even that she was chosen. Even at work it was hard because of her duties. If she didn't meet a certain quota, she didn't get paid which meant that she couldn't buy her mothers medicine, or their food for the night. When she wasn't working, Eva stayed at her mothers side, telling her of the daily goings on in the orchards and how each day she would set aside a little more so that one day her mother could go to The Capital and live like a princess. Marianne knew this would never happen, but she never told Eva otherwise. She knew Eva really told her the stories to lift her own spirits. Now, her mother is completely bedridden and Eva is 15, working harder than ever to support and take care of her mother.
