Personality:Hush-hush FC, maybe? THE WOES OF GLACIAL WRITERS WITH FULL RESERVATIONS. But it's along the lines of Hiddles and Benadryl Slumberpatch.
History:I think 'Prissy Cissy' can speak for itself.
They often wondered whether Tatiana Vaux knew what her daughter would become. But it was never really a matter of becoming, wasn't it? At least, not for Narcissa, who they believed was ingrained with the very essence of her name the minute she came into the world, accompanied nonetheless with shrieks that filled the entire delivery room. Despite being temperamental, inconsiderate, and altogether a spoiled bratty egomaniac nuisance, the little girl grew up to the adoring coos of family friends and distinguished relatives and underneath the watchful yet pleased gaze of her parents. To label her as a 'problem child' would be an understatement, especially in comparison to the poisonous and intoxicating environment of having to grow up in a family where you are raised to be believe that there is nothing else but to come out on top. She wouldn't have it in any other way.
Codeword: OdairPrestigious families are no rarity despite Panem's tyrannical and cutthroat tendencies. If they had anything close to a justifiable reason as to why they hold their noses at a slight tilt instead of holding out a hand for their fellow hungry citizens, it is that they have earned where they are now. Maybe not a statement applicable to each and every person lavishly living off of old money, but they had their trade secrets and that alone can't be obtained with humility nor hard work. No — in a world that stopped for no one, you have to be cunning. You have to play your cards well, and you have to play them right.
The Vaux family has been one of the most affluent and influencial families ever since the dawn of the Capitol, a feat impossible with sheer luck but with just the right mixture of money, cleverness and the right connections forged in business contracts, evening soirees and, of course, money, they managed to stay on top. They aren't planning on stepping down anytime soon, that's for sure, with every single one in their family groomed to preserve the family name right on top — may it be in politics, science, or even the social scene. Gordon Vaux married Tatiana Ratheswin not on the impulse of true love but on mutual negotiations. The Ratheswins, by definition of passed-around-gossip, was the closest thing Panem has to a dying royal line — at least, that's what the members of the family say, ring-clad fingers all pointing to the medieval crest painted on age-old parchment (which may or may not be a fallacy, but we will leave those matters to be discussed with old unmarried aristocratic women with nothing else to do) kept in family books.
The details are unclear and — should they be leaked, are disposed of immediately — don't come together to form a clear picture, but all they know is that Tatiana and Sylvia Ratheswin are two unlucky children, born to a generation left halfway broke. Whispers go around saying it was an interfamilial dispute led to backstabbing and ultimately, like all matters that involve a great deal of money but likewise a great gap between opinions, death.
The two girls are left with no parents but with a great deal of pride and a respectable sum of wealth in the bank, but it is not enough. A close relative saved them from the embarrassment of living in an orphanage, and by years of tradition were pawned off like stock shares to ensure their future. The Vauxs saw Tatiana's innate understanding of how things work as an asset, while the Eisleys (new money, mind you, but everyone is keeping tabs as their corporation grows) were content with having Sylvia's beauty as something of a trophy, of a precious remnant of what used to be one of the most feared families in the metropolis.
