Faith Helens
Rays of sunlight spill through my window and I blink twice. Somebody is already awake, I can tell by the light footsteps running up and down the hall. I look around the room, seeing the two boys of the triples sleeping soundlessly. Claire is probably the one running in the house. I change into loose black pants and a yellow shirt and open the door just a crack. A peek out of it, seeing my little sister finishing running in the halls. Her blonde hair is put in a ponytail and bounces as she takes deep breaths. She is six-years-old now, just like the other two. I take a step into the hall and close the door behind me. Claire looks up and sees me, her lips forming into a faint smile. With her straight blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin, she is a pretty little girl. She must have got the looks from her mother. The thought of my mother runs saddens me and I shake my head to rid the thought. My little sister is as delicate as a flower, completely unlike myself. "Faith!" She whispers in a high voice and falls into my arms. Claire is always the first one up from afternoon nap. It was originally meant for the younger ones but Faith never misses a chance of a nap. The triplets are old enough to go without naps now although the refuse to go without them. "I have to leave so be good Claire bear." I give her a kiss on the forehead and ruffle up her hair. "I'll be back by eleven." I tell her and head out the door. I know they are safe with the Peterson family, so it doesn't bother me.
I leave my home and head out to a dinner. I have to go to work soon but I need caffeine to keep awake during my shift. I order dark coffee and tap my fingers against an empty table. As I wait for my drink, I watch people and make up stories in my head about them. I receive my drink and pay the waitress. As I sip my coffee, I glance out of the window that I am sitting by and resist the urge to law my head against it.
