Silence and Fire [[Freshy]]

When Crwydryn opened her eyes, her room was blanketed in a dark, sacred silence. Dawn had not risen to sit on her golden chariot, yet. The girl rose from her soft bed and wiped the sleep-sand out of her eyes and surveyed the room. She could make out the dark shadows of a dresser, closet and other trinkets that she didn't really need. Dryn pulled open the curtains. The sky was growing lighter by the minute, and soon sunlight would pour over the horizon, pulling others from sleep. The girl slowly changed behind a screen and then sat before her large mirror, slowly brushing her long jet black hair out of it's braid. She glanced at the unused makeup next to her, but, like usual, decided against it. The stuff made her feel face, as though she was wearing a mask. Luna had given the set to her, saying it would enhance her green eyes. The woman was quite sweet, but never understood Dryn.

When she stood up again, she straightened her blue tee-shirt. It had a small V-neck that showed of her curves enough to draw some eyes, but not too much to be considered vulgar. Not that the shirt was really all that clean, she was going to be working with the Cats. The Ocelots loved to run and chase her around the enclosure, which was way too small in Dryn's mind. Speaking of the cats, her own had woken up as a ray of sunlight alighted on his nose. Torox, while a sweet Ocelot, was rejected from the litter by his mother. He was born deaf. Dryn didn't have the heart to let him die, so she took him in herself, nursing him to health with a bottle. She fell in love with him, so even when she got an outrageous offer from a trader who worked for a Capitol citizen, she refused to part with him. Luna wouldn't talk to her for weeks.

Dryn ran her hand over his spotted pelt as he rubbed against her leg. She opened the door of her bedroom and headed out to the kitchen, Torox at her heels. She fed him some meat and cooked herself some eggs and pan-seared toast. She ate quickly, and grabbed her Training Bag, closing the front door, not before checking for her keys. Torox jumped and sat in the window and watched her walk down the drowsy street, his bright eyes never leaving her back until she turned a corner. The cat then curled up and went back to sleep.

Soon, the smell of baking bread drifted to Dryn's nose and the houses and shops around her began to stir more and more. It wasn't long before the street, that was previously deserted, was filled with the bustle of workers, shop owners, venders and others. Dryn smiled. Although she herself was quiet, she enjoyed the hurried bustle of the morning streets. There was always something to see, something to buy, something to smell, things to hear. Venders cried out their goods, children played, the smell of meat cooking, fruit being advertised. A small child looked longingly at some sweets, her clothes dirty and a bit torn. Dryn's heart went out to the child and bought her a sweet bun. The little girl have her a toothy smile and then ran away, stuffing the sweet in her mouth. Dryn never forgot that if it hadn't been for Jou, let him rest in piece, taking her in, she could have been just like that girl. She had been, wandering the forest. As she looked back around, she saw a group of people looking at something, or someone. Dryn, being overcome with curiosity, went to see what the show was.
