It was a bright sunny Thursday afternoon. Lana Rose was wearing one of the most expensive outfit's in Panam. No, she wasn't a daughter of one of those rich peacekeepers. She was just checking out their trash after she heard the peacekeeper telling his daughter to throw her outfit away and that she should never wear the same outfit more than once.
Spoiled brats, she thought. Ooh, what's this? Lana had found a magnificent blue gown with sparkling sequins on it. This must be the peacekeeper's wife's gown! It's a little big, but I could wear it on reaping day![/i] Lana quickly and carefully put the dress in her worn-out bag and started to walk home.
Lana might have not been the most wealthy girl in the district, but she was happy she lived in District 2. She had wonderful training in case she was thrown in the Hunger Games and "spoiled brats" who threw out almost brand new clothes for her to wear! She sometimes thought how miserable her life was, she had no real parents or anyone who loved her.. But then she always thought how rough the other districts have it. Her life was probably nothing compared to others.
Lana yearned for someone to love her. She caught boys staring at her at times but that was never what she wanted. She wanted someone to love her no matter what. Love her no matter how she looked. Love her and be there for her no matter what, she didn't want an admirer or follower, she just wanted someone who cared about her.
She never knew what it was like to be loved as her parents died before she could get to know them, her adoptive parents just trained her to win the Hunger Games and earn them wealth...
