Finding Me {Ani and Bray}

I continued on my journey down the street- everything at the moment; the sights, the sounds, the touch of everything was too much for me. My chest felt as if it was about to collapse in on its self- the air I breathed in felt dry and smokey; all I wanted to do was lie down at home in my bed, sleep in my air conditioned room where the air was sweet and clean and forget about today.


It happened so fast, I don't even remember it happening. Not clearly. When I woke, everything as still- nothing moved, nothing made a sound. For a moment even my breathing was soundless. The silver light of the moon shone through the window- its crinckled face smiling down from the stary sky. District One slept silently outside the window- the lights of the city beyonds still shone brightly like a second lot of stars; only they were closer and brighter. Before I could think about what had woken me from the deep sleep I had been in, I heard a rumbling. It was like thunder- it started off quiet growing louder and I began to hear the tickling of the glass that sat on my bed side table. Soon, the rumbling was deafening and the whole room swayed from side to side- the walls leaning in and out; when all of a sudden the wall and the roof fell- and I was encased in darkness.

"Are you alright?"

The voice broke me out the memory that was still fresh in my head- I took a deep breath thinking to myself Why can't the world just leave me alone... before I turned round to the person the voice belonged to. Like the voice suggested, it was a girl who stood just behind me- a look of concern was brushed across her feminine face. The fair haired girl looked like a career- with strong arms and long legs; though if she had been a career- I doubted she'd be talking to me. Not wanting to be rude, Belle would have not wanted me being rude, I felt like I had to respond to her question.

"As alright as I could be.." I responded as I went to push myself on, but my brakes had become stuck again "Oh for godsakes, as if I need this."
