Age: 17
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 2
Appearance:
Beau has a mass of light blonde hair covering the top of his head. The shaggy blob isn't quite long enough to reach his eyebrows, but it's almost there. Not that you would be able to tell how long it actually is because he never seems to bother to brush it down straight anyway. It is constantly pushed up into messy spikes that shoot all over his head. The roots of his hair are a dark brown and they give it a faded dyed look. People refuse to believe it's natural, but Beau wouldn't honestly waste time dying his hair for absolutely no reason.Personality:
His eyebrows are the same light blonde color that the hair on his head is (and all the other hair on his body). The only except to that is the darker hair that trails down his lower stomach and leads into his pants His eyes are a dark brown and are framed by thin black eyelashes. His nose is long and a bit crooked from having it broken and not reset properly once. His lips are of average size, and a dark pink color. Beau has a sharply angled jaw and high cheek bones. If he lived in the Capitol, he might have been a model for one of the magazines that his mother is always looking at. His teeth are perfect after years of braces and his father being able to afford them.
A silver earring hands from his left ear and he never takes it out. Not many boys in his district have their ear pierced, so he enjoys that fact that is sets him apart. Beau is pretty tan from being outside so much training in the sun. He sometimes sits outside just to tan because he honestly doesn't feel like doing anything else. At times like these, you can see the scars that line his body. The biggest, most noticeable one is on his right leg. It reaches from his ankle to the back of his knee. It was a spear that tore it open. His chest is lined with several small knife scratches and his left arm as a burn from another incident. The scars aren't much of a surprise though when you consider how much training he has done in his life.
He is exactly six feet tall and has a semi-built frame. He spends most of his time with his arms for projectile weapons, and strength. Much of his training with projectiles also involves torso strength and though you can't visibly see the muscle in his stomach, it's there. He doesn't train with his legs as much because it is not something that is required for throwing weapons. Running is not his forte, he is extremely slow.
Beau has long slender feet with long toes. His hands have long slender fingers and are a bit bony. With fingers as long as his, he can easily touch his middle finger to his thumb when it's wrapped around his wrist. The light blonde hair covering his arms and legs often give off the impression that he shaves since it's not as visible as dark hair is.
Beau wears jeans often, unless he is tanning outside and it is exceptionally hot out. The accident with spear has made him usually keep his legs fully covered when training. His torso is usually dawning a tank top because of the hot weather in District One. Otherwise, it's usually a tank top with a jacket over it. A lot of times you will just find him shirtless. His feet are usually covered in dirt, and his toenails are mostly filthy. He doesn't wear shoes often and is sometimes too lazy to bother to clean them. If he does where shoes, then you can bet that he isn't wearing socks.
Beau lacks motivation. This is not to say that his is lazy, because he is not. His whole life he has been told what to do. Beau read this book. Beau go out and train. Beau sit up straight. He has never had any real will to do anything himself. There has never been a time when he has set a task for himself and tried to accomplish it. Most of his life has just been wandering around and dealing with wherever he ends up or taking orders from other people.History:
Projectile weapons are his specialty. This includes spears, knives, and blow darts. His also pretty good at hand to hand combat because he knows how to use his upper body weight to his advantage. For years Beau has been training as a Career with every kind of weapon that District Two has to offer. He is not unfamiliar with any of them. But he took a liking to projectiles and found them easiest to use for himself. From there he has just been developing a mastery of it.
There are talkers and then they are listeners. Beau falls into the second half of the people. He doesn't talk much, only when it's needed or he has something he should say. The rest of time his mouth stays shut. He doesn't backtalk or get mad and start spewing obscenities. Most of the time his is calm and relaxed. Beau rarely ever looses his cool.
He is smart. As in an IQ of over 160 smart. His mind is mostly strategy and works based of scenarios. If something happens he thinks of all the possible outcomes and then decides on the best. Nothing he does is on impulse, even if it may seem to be. It just turned out to be the best over all option. Most people doesn't know Beau is as intelligent as he is because he is a straight C student. There is no motivation to do well in school. What's the point? He doesn't have to work because of his father's wealth. And ten to one he will just end up being a trainer. All the kids will ask him why he never volunteered and he would just shrug in response. What was the point in volunteering? The Games were so much work.
Smart as he is, Beau doesn't really have an opinion about the Capitol. His father has made him read so many books that were self-published and capitol-taught. They differed greatly but Beau good never side with either war. Often times he would sit and think about what he would have done in either of the leading positions, and really, The Hunger Games seem like a logical reaction. It was a great way to control the tributes so long as the Gamemaker's could outsmart the strategist's in the games.
Beau's mother gave birth to him when she was sixteen, the same year that her eighteen-year-old boyfriend was reaped. Luckily for her, his brother volunteered in his place and her boyfriend was able to stay home. Unluckily for her, he became an entirely different person than the one that had just been reaped days ago. Beau's father became obsessed with the games. His brother did not survive and so his entire view about the Capitol was different. He was a changed man: not cruel, but hard. Nothing like she remembered him. He woke up every night screaming from dreams that she never seemed to be able to calm him down from the horrible fantasies he was making up in his head. Sometimes, he wouldn't look at her.Codeword: odair
She gave birth to a baby boy a few years later, and she had hoped that he might change for the better with someone to look after. He didn't. Her son was raised in an environment she never would have approved of. But she was powerless in her husband's house. Beau grew up training to be a Victor, his father saw him as a tool. An advantage over the Capitol. He was trained with the attitude of a Victor. He was raised learning the skills of a Victor.
He was never forced to work. And why would he need to? They had plenty of money and plenty of food because his father was extremely good at manipulating people. But he was trained to know what hard work was and to understand it. His father's obsession spread to write. He always had a book in his hand and was jotting down any information he thought might be essential. Beau's father's room was scattered with books about the games that his brother had competed in and the history of Panem. Any useful piece of information that he could recall, he wrote down in his books.
Years of studying the games made him wise about society. With everything he learned, he wrote it down and he passed it onto his son. Beau's father made him read all of it. He made him train. He made him learn and understand. Beau's only reason for existing in this world was to survive. All his life he had been trained to survive. For what? All these years he has never been picked. He has trained to win the games for his father's big plan. But if that chance doesn't come, what has he been trained for? It wasn't even something that he wanted himself, just what he'd been taught he should want.
His father writes things the Capitol doesn't know about. He writes books on rebellion. On treason. Beau reads these too. And sometimes he wonders if his father has been training him all these years to win the Hunger Games or to be a key pawn in his rebel scheme.
His relationship with his mother is just awkward. They don't really talk unless it is absolutely needed. He was never really her son anyway. Just his father's tool. His mother was the one who watched from the side lines. There is no real purpose for Beau in life. There has only been the next step in training. Do most people have dreams? Because he is trying to find his.
