"Unique? Hah, there's nothing unique about me at all."

There's nothing particulary "unique" about Austin, like he said, except his unkempt dirt-brown hair that never wants to behave and eyes that can't seem to make up their mind: always changing from blue to green to gray and back again. I guess, in a way, you could call him different, but not necessarily in a good way. Austin's bad traits tend to override the good. For instance, you might like how his nose is slightly crooked from being punched in it one too many times, but you would be disgusted with the bumps and scars running up and down the back of his arms from him picking and scratching at every mosquito bite he ever got. You might get butterflies in your stomach just thinking about his crooked smile that matches his nose, but the small amount of acne scars hidden near his right ear would make you want to vomit.

"Work? Work? Do I look like I do that stuff?"

You would think that living in District Four, the Fishing District, Austin would be pretty built. That's not the case. While most have muscular and toned arms from work, his arms are more like limp noodles; if you inspected each and everyone's hands in the District you would find most of them callused from the throwing of nets and the such, not Austin's, his hands are built more for sipping tea than work of any kind.

"I could have ten different mood swings in one day and you still wouldn't really know me."

Austin cares, entirely too much. Every moment of every day he's worrying about what people think of him, so in turn he's very defensive and likes to keep to himself.

"I have no idea why someone would want to read this junk."

Isn't it time there wasn't such a sad story, that someone in the Districts actually had a pretty happy childhood?
