Sometimes life is too serious in Panem, what with the dark threat of the Games over everyone's heads. (Except the Capitolites of course, but they don't count.) Sometimes all that's needed is a bit of humor. After all there is plenty of humor to be made, since comedy is tragedy that happens to other people. While it is quite tragic, there is a lot to be said about it, and about the people who created and run it. Of course, these jokes are discreet, hidden and usually said only in the rarest of times. Until some idiot came up with the idea for CHORTLe or Comedy Holds Our Reason To Live. CHORTLe is currently made up of only one guy, Jeremy Vance, and should really be named CHMRTL (Comedy Holds My Reasons To Live), but CHORTLe sounds better. So here's the plan, Jeremy is going to build CHORTLe from the bottom up. If only he were about to find other people dedicated to the art of comedy and trying to make life in Panem a little bit easier.
Problem is, he's just about to be thrown into the Detention Center. (That's right people, freeze frame.) It seems some Peacekeeper wasn't so fond of his jokes. Well, that's alright, because of all the luck he was stuck into the same cell as Tyler Patel, who just so happens to have quite the talent for witty and sarcastic comments. Three others are sitting in Districts, waiting for someone to listen to jokes that every seems to be too scared to laugh at. Each boy has a history with the Peacekeepers and have been in the Detention Center at least once. Not necessarily because they're delinquents (by the true definition anyway) but because the things they say hit a bit too close to the truth for the Peacekeepers to let them slip by. Still, even they have to admit, it's not like Panem is the perfect place to live. It's why they all still have their tongues, and their lives.
Each boy has their own story, and it's about time that they had their thoughts heard. Time to form CHORTLe. Time to make some comedy. Turn up the funny!
NOTE: This is not first come first serve. As well, I need you to prove you can create a good comedic character. I am leaving the boy's open to your discretion with a mere quote to serve as a guide. One last thing, if you have a character that you think could be a potential addition to CHORTLe post their name, the link to their bio and an example of why they're funny (This can be written just for this plot or a previous post). Have fun!

Jeremy Vance - {Played by Me} - 18 - The creator of CHORTLe, and the leader of sorts. He is a bit of a trouble maker, but with his words rather than his actions. He's been thrown into the Detention Center twice, plus this time coming up. Oh boy, three strikes. Naturally witty, and not without his dripping sarcasm for more than a few moments, he is a natural-born comedian. Not to mention, he can create songs on a whim and easily makes them hilarious. An orphan as of his seventh birthday, he's grown up while living with his friends. Wahoo, couch surfing. With two priors, he should be sent to the Capitol to be avoxed this time, but lucky boy he gets to just take a ride to District two's Detention Center and spend his time for improper speech.

Arron Grant - {Played by OPEN} - 18 - "Comedy is defiance. It's a snort of contempt in the face of fear and anxiety. And it's the laughter that allows hope to creep back on the inhale."

Talk to the mirror, oh, choke back tears.
And keep telling yourself that "I'm a diva!"
Oh and the smokes in that cigarette box on the table,
they just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin.

Tyler Patel - {Played by OPEN} - 19 - "Comedy is exaggerated realism. It can be stretched to the almost ludicrous, but it must always be believable."
