Like Ghosts In the Fields [D11; Semi-Open]

“I want to give him one night to remember—a night to let him know how special he is. He’s more than my brother. He’s better’n just a word. He’s my blood and I’m his. So I’m gonna make this a celebration, ‘cause we ain’t had anything to be happy about all year.”

The children of District 11 have always been taught not to celebrate another year of life. It’s hard enough in the hot sun picking, harder still when there’s not enough to eat. What’s another year to remind them that their lives are stuck here?

But the Izar children are something different entirely. Having lost one brother, they’ve come to realize how precious life really is. Enter Deval Izar’s 16th Birthday Party: An idea conceived by his brother, Sampson to make sure that his brother is reminded just how special he truly is. Hidden out in their family’s corn fields, he’s set up torches and even got some help from the Corto girl to snag some fun treats for those in attendance. Of course not all will go according to plan. The night brings out ghosts of the past—and who’s to say what these children will really face? Everyone is hoping this is the start of a tradition of escaping to the corn to let loose... but they're about to come face to face with someone they've been trying to forget...

Right, this thread is supposed to kickstart a few plots in D11, namely revolving around the Izars but of course everyone involved. If your character would like to attend the party, please fill out the RSVP for approval (note that this will be slightly limited as this thread will be pretty big already)!
