Appearance:
Personality:Oriole is relatively average when it comes to her looks and size. She's 5'5", which is incredibly normal, and she weighs 129 pounds. She's slender and lean, with slender muscles lining her frame. She's not incredibly strong, but her long strong legs make her quick and she's has incredible endurance. Ori doesn't quite have the perfect hourglass figure she's seen some of the career girls had, but she isn't flat as a plank. She only just started to earn her womanly frame and she's very self conscience about it due to being teased. Other people her age have only just stopped telling people to stay away from her because they might get splinters since she was flat as a plank.
Fair skin is very delicate, but she doesn't burn like she did when she was little. Oriole has very gentle facial features. She has high, but unpronounced cheek bones. Her lips are full and a very pale pink color. She has deep blue eyes that look like a stormy sky. During the winter, they seem to turn into a steel grey. Her hair is Ori's most impressive feature. Her dirty blonde hair is tightly curled and very fluffy. She has a hard time keeping it tamed and it takes forever to comb out and put up for the Reaping. She normally keeps it down and it falls a little ways past her shoulders. Due to it's relatively wild nature, Oriole can look unkempt and disheveled most of the time.
History:This young lady is very sweet and kind. She has great manners. Ori isn't the biggest fan of the Capitol, but she respects them and what they do. They don't really effect her personally that much anyway. She's very compassionate and does what she can to help others. She loves animals, especially her sheep. She's very protective of them. She doesn't like it when people bully others who can't defend themselves and she'll step in if she feels like she has too. She doesn't trust easily, but if she was ever in the Games, she'd have trouble with becoming attached to the younger Tributes. Especially since she can be incredibly loyal.
Oriole can be very stubborn. When she sets her mind on something, she's going to do it, no matter what anyone might say. She will never say no to a dare. If you dare her to do something, she'll do it. She's a very proud person, and doesn't like her honesty or morals to be questioned. She's pretty smart, but she doesn't always think she's right. She is humble enough to listen to others ideas and plans. When you get her angry, she'll do anything. She sets herself on a path and anyone who gets in her way will get cut down. A few kids teased her once, saying that she wore ripped clothes because her dad was lazy. She locked herself in her room for three days making herself new clothes that were nicer then everyone else's. She's very committed.
Codeword: odairOriole Cordero was born on a stormy night in the fall to a factory worker and his sickly wife. Oriole’s mother, Robine, was always weak, and when she was born, she only got worse. The entire time Robine was alive after her daughter was born, she never left her bedroom. Her family live on an old ranch a little ways out from the city where her father works. They moved there when her grandparents died and left it to her mother along with their flock of sheep. Oriole’s father, Peak, thought that maybe moving away from the smog of the city would help Robine.
Her childhood was a happy one. She spent most of her time with her mother and the sheep. Since her father was always busy working, and her mother was confined to the house, she was mostly in charge of caring for them. She learned a lot about responsibility at a young age. Her mother taught her how to spin the wool into thread and who to make cloth and clothing with it. Oriole has used this clothing as supplemental income and because of it, they’ve never gone hungry. Her mother also taught her to gather wild plants for medicinal purposes. Since Robine was so sick and in pain, and they couldn’t afford the fancy medicine from the Capitol, they mixed herbs and wild plants into concoctions that helped manage her pain. Robine also tried to teach her how to sing, since she was a magnificent singer herself, sadly Oriole is completely tone deaf. But on days her mother wasn’t doing well, she’d dance to make her happy.
When Ori turned eleven, her mother passed away. In her final years, she grew weaker and spent the last few months of her life in her bed. The girl was very sad for a very long time after this. Her father tried to help, and his sense of humor and optimistic attitude would get her to smile every now and again, but it was her sheep that really saved her. They needed her to take care of them. This really hit home when vandals broke onto their property and stole half her flock. After that, Oriole spent her night out on the field with the flock. She learned how to protect them with her shepherd’s staff. She’s very good at using it and has fought of many people and animals looking to make a meal of her flock. She loves her father, but they’ve grown apart now that they rarely see each other.
